Oh jeezus, totally out of context!!!..what I meant was it would be distracting for me to sit next to him while driving at high speeds..*smacks forehead*
Jon, I just received this email from a well known F car independant dealer/restorer that I visited some months back. And here's what he says... Boxers are indeed getting expensive. They were once in the 60k range just a few years back so looks like the recession in UK has no effect on car prices. And I noted that all such cars seem to hold firmly, it was only the modern ones like the Bentley Conti, AM V8s, Gallardos that fell a lot. "With regards to Boxers we are currently restoring a number of Ferrari boxers both 512 and 365. However we do not recommend the injection cars and tend not to restore them. Please let me know if you will be in England again and I will show you some of the boxers we are restoring. Clearly the 365 is going to be the most collectable of the boxers as there were only 58 right hand drive models in the world, three of which we are restoring. The 512 carburettor boxers will in my opinion also increase in value and become more and more collectable as the world comes out of recession, although these will never be as collectible as a 365 due to production numbers. I have enclosed a write up which may explain the differences. If you would like any pictures of the restored cars then please let me know. Our restored cars are in priced at £150,000 finished and authenticated by the Ferrari factory. We do have a 365 boxer which requires no restoration work has a genuine mileage of 14,000, it was supplied to the previous owner by William Loughran, a well known Ferrari dealer here in the UK. The previous owner had stored it in a heated garage and covered less that 400 miles in 10 years. It is in fantastic condition and we will sell this to you for £115,000". I will see him and report back!
Jon, sounds like you will be going to have a nice car collection in KL! Quite a good idea especially you really enjoy the classic as there is no COE and all.
Jon, will it be cheaper for you to import for example the 328 from UK to KL or just buy one that is already in KL?
See, what are you waiting for?! Not UK, it's South Africa we should go! 365Boxer is the equivalent of the Lamborghini Miura being the 1st V12 mid-engine Ferrari & carbs! Was looking @ DK's site yesterday but I wouldn't dare ask their prices. Strange, why is it that they wouldn't restore the injector cars.
