The Ottawa/Gatineau Thread

Hey Guys, summer is coming up so it will be a great time to spot exotic cars. Let us know in the comments below if you saw any exotics or rare cars. I know there is alot of nice cars in the Ottawa/Gatineau region.

I will start the discussion by letting you know that I saw my first Nissan GT-R on the La Gappe boulevard in Gatineau not long ago It looks awesome!

Saw a black late model Lambo at filling station at 10th line and Innes on Saturday eve,

and a dark gray NSX on Innes and Trim this am

Nice Spot Denis Which model was the Lambo ? It reminds me about 2 years ago when I raced a Diablo on the Highway 417, obviously I lost ;(

 

I caught my first GTR on Bank street the other day. It was a red one, nice, but alot bigger than I thought it would be.

Also a red/tan 360 Modena with a challenge grill on Conroy, followed not 5 minutes later by a black Vanquish.

 

Sorry , I know it was a newer car, may have been a Gallardo, but too many thing were going on at the same time, busy intersection.

 

The last time I took the 417 to head to Ottawa (November 7, 2009) it was absolutely ridiculously cop-ridden.

 

Highway 417 is always cop-ridden Also theirs always a tons of exotic cars coming from Montreal

 

I will also attest to it being quite the Cop trap. I go to Hawksburry often enough from Montreal and see MANY MANY as soon as i cross the border from QC to ONT

 

My job consists of me driving all over southern/eastern Ontario.

From my experience, the worst area for cop traps I've seen is the Highway 401 between ~Oshawa and Napanee.

My first time driving from Toronto to Kingston I was stopped and ticketed; since then I've slowed down and seen at least 15 cop traps over the past 6 months.

 

Does this mean I have to follow the speed limit going to the Ferrari Festival this year.

 

You can afford breaking the speed limits for this special event You will be there ? With your Ferrari or as a spectator ?

Can't say I have ssen intimated by radars on 417 or 416*in the last year or so (touch wood)


The only thing to watch for is the 'glorified tax collectors' on the 416 near Spencerville. Last year on our return from Kingston he pulled-over 2 of the crew for not having front plates $115 fines

 

Yes, I will be there this year with the Ferrari (unless I get any last minute work surprises) I missed the last two years (went three years ago) and don't plan on missing anymore.

 

Which Ferrari model do you have ? Also today I saw an Audi RS4 on Saint-Raymond Boulevard, always good to see one and 2 Mercedes SL550 all near the Hull Galeries.

 

Testarossa. It was previously owned by a member of the Ottawa Chapter, so she likes to visit her old home once and while.

 

Are you going to the track event on Friday? There will be some interesting cars on the track this year...

Speaking if the parade. Is there a reason why Ferrari does not participate in the parade? speed zone is nice but I was sort of sad not to see the cars in parade especially the vintage cars. More vintage Italian exotics of all makes pleeesse.

Would that be the red/tan one that disapeared from the city a few years ago? I miss seeing that beauty cruise around.

 

I may not be able to make the full track day on Friday due to work. I hope to catch at least the latter part of the track day.
It's actually red with black interior and a single mirror.

 

It was because of the construction last year... we will be participating again this year...

It's been pretty quite in Ottawa lately I find ... or maybe I live in a boring part of town.
There was a black panamera around the Nepean sportsplex last night. What a beauty!

 

Just saw a red Nissan GTR and a blue BMW M5 on Saint-Joseph boulevard at the same time

 

Seems like alot of people are seeing the red GTR around, must be the first in the city.

Caught a blue Lamborghini Gallardo om Conroy today.

 

I think the owner of the red GTR lives in Chelsea when I saw the GTR he was going home. You're so lucky, I never saw a Lambo in Gatineau or Hull I need to go more often to Ottawa I guess

 

The blue Gallardo is in Upper Hunt Club and he gets it out a lot. I love the sound as he zooms past my place in the mornings.
