Another reminder that law enforcement does monitor chat sites. It's just a matter of time before an FChatter has his car impounded by the EPA enforcement division after posting all about how they removed the cats and other emission control devices on their road car...

If this is icemanbops or not, it just goes to show that this kind of life can not live this kind of lifestyle, or atleast can not sustain it for long. Things are not like they where 20 years ago, all Miami vice style. I'm sure things are only going to get even harder for this kind of life.

+1 on the resale of the cars. Quite a nice result for SOCA to generate the cash from the resale of these cars, too much to throw away to crush them ( we hope).

One would think that, yes. It is the obvious, intelligent option, to reclaim some of the money spent to investigate and prosecute the offender. It makes perfect sense. Which is precisely why I'm afraid the government involved will toss 'em in the crusher.

In theory, yes. In practice, not necessarily. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford an OJ defense. Then there are the cases, even "today", where the court is biased or corrupt. For example, the recent case of the judge found to have accepted bribes to send juvies up, many times for trivial "crimes", in order to juice the profits of the detention facilities.

We also know that police routinely tell bald-faced lies about the circumstances surrounding arrests.

The article in post #1 says he will soon be on trial in France. I think France has a different law than ours and "innocent until proven guilty" is one of those differences.

Looking through his "2008 Enzo" thread, there seems to be some FChatter involvement in his purchase:

Point 1) as far as I can tell, no concerete link has been made between the arrested and the profile user Icemanbops. Coincedences yes, a guilty verdict, no.

Point 2) I do not like being pointed at in this matter. I have had some contact with the person and know somebody that knows him, and on each occasion I found Mike to be a very plesant man. I alliance is with him. I was not involved in the aquisition of this car, I point out yet again, Alexander Surin and Icemanbops have not been connected by anybody substantial, just keyboard detectives. I am sure Napolis is not happy either.

To the mods, you are brave allowing such discreditation of a man with such resources as those of Mike Bops.

    That is the truth.

Assuming all of these acccusations are true, he is an elitist. The drug-dealing world is much akin to normal society that you and I experience on a daily basis; most people in any given society will never be able to spend a cool mil on a car--or anything for that matter. Most people want to get ahead in life, and most drug dealers are actively seeking to move up a level and find a new source that can supply a larger quantity at any given time.

Not many drug dealers get to the point where they can drop millions of dollars on cars; it usually takes a very long time. As with normal investments risk and reward have a positive correlation.

Anyone can sell 20 pills of Ecstasy or a 8-ball of coke. Yay, you made a couple hundred bucks. No real risk, and even if you get caught you're getting probation.

When you move up to a level that involves trans-oceanic/border shipments the complexities of logistics multiply ten-fold, thereby introducing a new and unexperienced type of headache that disappears only when the shipment has successfully arrived at the buyer and the monies have been transferred.

Furthermore, if you get caught ONCE at this level you are getting a MINIMUM 20-YEAR SENTENCE, and that is only if you decide to become a rat and cooperate with the DEA, etc.

That has gotta suck to live every day of your life knowing that today may be the day your life essentially ends.

Live hard, play hard....its inevitable, you fall hard, too.
