Glenn, are you just bored now that the 348 is done, or do I see TWO Ferraris in your future??? The challenge grill is a plus. Everything else is "standard", right? Personally, who cares about a custom audio system when you have a Ferrari engine behind your head... Is there any recent history/documentation (major service, prior damage, etc.)? Service records? Overall condition (paint, wheels, seats, dash)... If you are looking at a possible second f-car, (IMHO) think about a 360 Modena or maybe a v12 (456/550) -something different... Just sayin'...
We'll see Jar, I have an appt to see the car Saturday and will do my due dilligence then. If it works out great , if I pass no big deal. For now the car is not for sale to anyone else until I see her. What do you think she's worth ??
IF it's nice, no stories, recent major, etc,... I'd say $50k or less is realistic. I'm sure there are a lot of 355 owners who would disagree though.
Sadly your probably right.. might even be less.. There are a few nice cars sitting (not selling) at 55k
What about the major? Clutch wear? Brakes? Heck the tires can set you back $2000. $50,000 could be a good price but if you need a major and clutch and this and that you could be over $60,000 in no time and I'm the only one with a 355 worth over $60,000.
"Cruise control" I say if it has cruise control, you got your self a one of kind 355, grab it for any price owner wants.
Nice solid cars are not sitting at $55K. Just sold my GTB which was very, very nice for $55K. In one week--granted the buyer backed out because he couldn't come up with the money but it sold again in less than a month to another buyer who wired me the money the next day after seeing the car. I could have probably sold it for $65K if I was more patient.
My buddy has a carfax report for me, He says it shows no accidents. I will take a meter to check paint levels and of course records of service. I am still a ways off in deciding. I still need to take her for a ride Thanks for the push ,,LOL You car looks amazing. Its better then when it came from the factory G
Owners are going to have a higher price in mind and non-owners are going to have a lower price. Start making offers and see what kind of car you can get for the money you are willing to pay. Just becareful......
I think mid to high $50's is a fair price---Mine is getting ready to hit the open market very soon and I am going to list it for $59.9K.... 1998 GTB, F1, 14K miles, last major done end of 2006...
Guys: It boggles my mind that neither of you have been able to sell your cars. Hands down, these are the two finest F355 Berlinettas on the market. They are as close to perfect as one can get. Don't buyers recognize quality when they see it? Robbie, anyone in the market for an F355 that won't grab your car for $60K is an absolute fool and doesn't deserve a Ferrari.
