    I think that's a phenomenal idea!

As darth said this thread gives me chills every day. It's a glorious thing and it's so amazing what everyone has done.

Alexander's got the shields, all he needs are shields for his wheels.;) Somebody, hook him up!

Hats off to you sir!! Count me in to help in any way I can in Seattle. I would like to also point out something Bridget said a few posts back. There is no organization that works like 'Make a Wish' for young men and woman.

    Cheers to you all!
    Rob

We are meeting at Bahama Breeze at Southcenter, just south of Seattle on I-5 at 1:00 PM. We will caravan up north where we have Alexander set up at a slot car track. His mother is thrilled with the plan. We also have a hotel lined up nearby. The word is out via the Northwest section as well as every other forum we could think of around here. Should be a good turnout.

Alexander and family just left Portland around 10 AM and are on their way to Seattle. What a great and amazing family. I was very happy to be part of this. I'll post pics of the family's stop at Speed Sports, when I get home tonight.

    Cheers,

    Josh

Haig - more than happy to help out.

I haven't had a chance to read all of the posts, but Susie mentioned that you guys might be looking into starting up a foundation for other kids/young adults to keep this going. Something similar to the Make-A-Wish foundation? If that's the case - count me in! I'd also like to suggest, "The Dream Machine Foundation" for the name.

I also want to thank both Ferrari of Seattle and Lamborghini of Bellevue for donating gear for today's event. It was wonderful to get your support in this event.

I just recieved this email from Susie and man there was some action in Portland and Seattle today. Take a look.

    Hello Everyone,
Monday, Alexander had a good sleep for the second night. It feels better knowing that he just needed some extra rest. In the afternoon we took Alexander to see Papa's plaque and he was very happy to see that it was close to the lighthouse right at the beach, and with the boats close by. Auntie Bridget put a flower on his spot and took some pictures. I am glad that he got to come and see this, it was more important to him than I realized. A sentimental moment for us all.
After that we went to the end of the Pier (near the Boardwalk) and saw the sea lions; and Alexander saw his first Pelican! It was neat to see his excitement. He checked out a couple of stores and wondered around for a bit. All good in his world.
Tuesday we had to say goodbye to our family and friends. This is always a hard thing to do. We will miss you guys!
We headed west from Redding; Because Alexander really wanted to see the Redwood Forest. We figured "alright, by looking at the map it should only take a couple of hours to get across on highway 299 to the coast. Well almost 5 hours later and going through more national forest than you could imagine we made it. Not a good plan. Never the less, we got to Crescent City very late in the evening.
Wednesday. Okay, even though we drove a REALLY long tome to get to the coast. It was totally worth it. The dive was beautiful and Alexander enjoyed his drive. Again we drove a little longer than planned. Alexander was tired but he also liked the drive and was happy we did this.
Thursday. Once again what an incredible day!
We started off this morning meeting with Josh of the Portland Porsche Club, and crew. We met at Speed Sports, Erik Clover's place. Thank you so much for the visit! It was great to meet you guys. We saw some some more spectacular cars. Of course he got pictures with the guys and the cars. It was very nice for Alexander to have this opportunity to meet you.
Then we were off to Seattle to meet the Seattle Ferrari club at Bahama Breeze in South Seattle. The reception was awesome we got to meet even more friends of this exotic world! I do not think that you people realize just how great you all are!
After Alexander receiving some great gifts, R.B. even gave Alexander his hat that he wore while on duty in Iraq; He wrote a special message on it. It was very touching. and more pictures with the cars and owners and new friends. We were escorted (with thanks to the police department) and all of the cars on I-5 through Seattle . It was awesome; the cars once again all around us and taking turns coming along side the "Vanarri" so Alexander could see and hear the engines roar. It was quite a thrilling experience once again. We ended at the Red Devil Raceway. A place were they run slot cars. It is neat. They devised a controller for Alexander to run a car on the little track and he did 100 + laps. Gerry the owner of The Red Devil Raceway gave Alexander a race set to take home. They also have set June 27th as a race day in Alexanders honor, it is so nice and if we can we will be back for this. Jason a cartoonists did charactures of us all.
Alexander is having one great trip. He is starting to miss his Dad and we all wish that he could have come with us. Unfortunately it has happened at his busiest time for work and he could not get away. I do not know what we are going to do to entertain Alexander when we get back home.? This has been the best experience he has ever had!
All the people who have just come out of no where and made him feel like the most important person in the world! I am in absolute awe of this, As well, I am very thankful for everyone who has worked so hard to make a young man feel this good.
Tomorrow is our last travel day to home. I will send out another update and let you all know how we do. It should be another good day!

    Susie
