and why is that a disappointment? a P300 is a wonderful drivertrain most likely the most charismatic of all the lambo v8's (if running of course)
Because you might expect that the Bravo could have something spectacular in the engine bay, but NO it's simlpy a shortened P300 chassis.
Sure, it got several times repainted and even the wheels were different, perhaps these are the famous 16"... http://www.jalpa.ch/Bravo/
16's? joe says walter wolf had a set of costume made LP400S bravos in 16inch for his CT. my question is what pirelli street tires did they used back in 77-79 that would fit the 12x16 wheels? i dont every recall the P7 had anything that wide in 16" there wasnt a great selection of wide low profile tires for 16 before the 80's. the 3 piece wheels were most likely were on the car during the 90's when painted the green/bronze livery? i read somewhere the bravo had over 30k test miles on it and was seriously consider for production but the factory was deep in bankruptcy by then and had to use as many urraco parts as possible...hence the P118 silhouette. apparently the was bravo looked at again once giulio alfieri became chief engineer and one proposal was to put a transverse miura type v12 in it. if you look into the engine bay there was even a chassis type number stamped for the bravo, if memory serves its a P114. so sad it didnt make it to production in any guise. great pic of the bravo chassis btw. ive never saw that one before warm regards hf
Hf: Walter Wolf told me he had 16 inch wheels made up for the Countach and the reason for this was the fitment of the bigger Lockheed brakes he ran. He also ran Lockheed brakes on his Formula One race cars, and had a set made up for the Countach by Automotive Products (AP) who also supplied the race cars. I don't recall if Dallara had a hand in all this, but he probably did. Walter was involved in so many projects he cant seem to recall them all with specificity. I dont know what year this was done, or what tires were used nor do I have any pics, but I do know that some of what he was learning from the F1 cars found its way into some of his road cars, wheels & tires included. The pictures in green and the 2 piece rims is from 1979, at that time the car was often in Switzerland at Lambo Motors in Aesch, I saw pictures of it standing outside the building there.
raymond so what year did the car change from tan to green then bronze? joe that pic taken at long beach? i think that wolf car won its maiden race in argentina. i saw one of those wolfs F1 cars on display at a bank in toronto the other one was in lajolla. anyhow the 16 inch saga continues.... cheers hf
There is also a video of a Japanese Wolf Countach drag racing against a QV and lost (slipped clutch)... anyone knows where it is in Youtube? Thanks
Nice Back End ! Why did he put those ugly wheelweight on the outside ???? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Peter, what are you getting done? I have a pretty similar trailer, but didn't think I could put the Countach on it. Did you raise the front of the trailer up to get it on ?
It does indeed look like either the trailer is backed up to an incline or the nose of the trailer is lifted...
Tarkus = very cool music.......Big ELP & YES fan Yeah, this is the 1st time I've trailered the Countach. Yes, it was on an incline but only because I had to roll it and pop the clutch out of my garage, no other choice really. I have a cool winch set-up, I just drop the winch on the bolted down bracket. BUT the f-ing thing got bound up & off the reel behind me as I was watching the car. Yes, it will roll up with the jack fully extended. worse case, you'd have to throw a piece of wood at the end of the ramp. I had 4 straps and the wheel baskets. Worked great. Everyone should have a trailer. Cheap, around $1800 plus $2-300 shipping...ebay. Best investment. Work order: Rebuild starter if that the problem. Test drivers side head gasket (pass. done). If head gasket needs replacing, use that to possibly to access starter. (otherwise remove exhaust) Mechanical & safety inspection
Here you go Peter..... ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZquiACzPLY I can remember playing this song "Live" back in High School when I was drummer and being completely "exhausted" by the time the song was over! Mike
I like the early shows most. This later show is nice too. I tried playing it in late 70's & early 80's on bass....didn't come out right http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B6r9IYw_R8 Bad timing to bring the Countach. Should have done it earlier. I am going to the Emerson & Lake show next weekend in Ridgefield, CT. Would have love to park in front of the place. I know 2 people that work for Greg Lake, both know I have the plate on the car, both ask if I'd bring the car. I think they know something they weren't telling me.
A week is plenty of time to fix the starter and pressure test the cooling system. Sounds like you'd be in for a little VIP treatment, good photo-op with the band. I would do what it takes to "get'er done".
I remember our keyboard player was so far ahead of his time "back in day". It wasn't everyone back in 1978 that owned an ARP 2600, (2) Mini-Moogs, Hammond B100 w/ Leslie Speaker and a Mellotron. Holy flashback, Batman!!!! ;-) Mike
