First we have this very nice looking Espada listed at $75K. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lamborghini-1972-Lamborghini-Espada-Very-Original-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem27b153766aQQitemZ170478761578QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks But this one, also green, has to be a new world record http://cgi.ebay.com/Lamborghini-Espada-/300417981387?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item45f24e9bcb Makes the first one look like an absolute bargin and I do think that first one is a very nice car. Miura smiura, this one seats four! Bob S.
Bob: I hate to burst your bubble, but much as I like Espadas, I think you are getting a bit carried away. The numbers listed on the EBay items for both cars have nothing to do with market reality. They represent a dream. A seller's dream. Pie-in-the-sky asking prices. The 250,000 GBP represents $375,000 US. The only way I would pay $375,000 for that car would be if it came with a cashier's check made out to me for $350,000. The seller's little gem of info in his description of "It's always possible to tell if an Espada has had a colour change, as the heated rear window matrix should be the same colour as the car like this one!" takes the cake. I love the colors of both cars though.
IMO, looking at the entire ad, the price is to discourage people from contacting the seller about this car and the entire ad is actually intended only as advertisement of the car being available at a Coys auction in late May.
The 2nd one was on ebay the first time at a reasonable price. This is a scam unless the guy is having fun with ebay free 2nd insertion.
I don't care how you promote it. The car is still a 60,000 mile green Espada. Nothing really special.
What's this you say? Green is nothing special??? Oh contrare. http://www.flickr.com/photos/13434495@N03/1415251646/sizes/o/in/set-72157602101549951/ http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137575452&postcount=1 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137577173&postcount=22 http://www.flickr.com/photos/13434495@N03/1415251442/sizes/o/in/set-72157602101549951/ http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/402549,17024,322,2051/photo.aspx
Yes but only AFTER we have a nice one right? ;>) That RHD green one on the trailer could become a very nice car as it seems very original and I don't detect anything missing. And it's green! The text on the photos is worth a read. Quite amusing. I think he's having us on a bit ... Bob S.
Thanks to Bob S. for the comment about my car being a nice one. "It is." Do I expect $75,000.00 for it? Of course not. I simply am sick of incapable buyers, and I suppose dreamers, or information seekers, asking so many questions. A serious buyer will have one of the best Espadas in the world. I actually turned down what I will take for the car about a year ago. If I had the same offer now I would accept it. I welcome any serious buyer to view the car. "Thanks again Bob." Steve. +1 Bob, we have the "best" ones. I'll say at least 250K ($ or GPB) for the pair... Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com Image Unavailable, Please Login

What's this Gary, Yogi Berra red? Recently it has come to my attention that one cannot assume popular culture knowledge anymore so here's the reference. It's like deja-vu, all over again. Yogi Berra
You're looking closer. So will it be at Pocono this year? I can't believe we missed each other last year. Bob S.
i am not sure about pocono yet? need to trust the car first its almost 8 hours for me one way Gary 8394
i would say to anyone serious about buying a properly restored ( not even Gound up) espada with no unresloved issues and perfect paint and interior, that if you got it for 75k it would really be a bargain! Gary 8394
these asking are totally unrealistic espadas have still pretty low values....you can find some poor cars for less than a new VW polo and this all over the globe this said to completely restore one espada and make it "perfect" cost a huge amount of $$-euros, not much different than restore a 300k euro miura P400 buyers looking for the best are aware of the costs involved in an espada restoration and sometimes pay much more than the official quotation, one awesome espada sold around 75k$ in US not long ago (buyer was happy to pay for the quality)
Gary speaks from recent and personal experience. I think at this point he's feeling that the term "Espada" is probably more appropriate for something from the Spanish Inquisition. But I think he's having fun too? Eh Gary? ;>) Gary's description is not one that applies to Steve's car. That is a really nice looking (from where I sit in front of my computer) original car. Anyone interested should get in contact with Steve and have him discuss and demonstrate the condition of the car. If you've been following Espadas for a while, 6 months to a year, then you know where the bidding got to the last time around. That's not to say that this number is the one he's thinking of. A pretty good guess ... I think It's pointless to call him out on a public forum about his price. If you're serious just call and find out more about the car. Bob S.
hey espada guys lets talk further on the "espada" thread for the benefit of all the Espada guys. Gary 8394
