C110s have almost no following in the US. Plus it's hopelessly stuck behind the C10 in terms of desireability. For example, just today, my AC maintenance guy came in to the shop and went straight past the Italian stuff and the c110 and stopped right in front of the C10 Hako. He said he had no idea what it was, just that he wanted one. Funny enough, his reaction is fairly typical of American visitors I've had of late.

Well, the styling is a bit awkward in a 1970s sort of way. Personally, I can appreciate that awkwardness, but I understand why others don't. The C10 has a much more "1960s" flavor - a look that's much easier to love.

not really, that would average $31k per car, retail is only $35k. Factor in risk, cost of capital, transaction and transport costs, you could make a bit of money (maybe keep a "free" E-class for yourself) but not a tremendous upside.

would make a great sedan service or high-end taxi fleet, or loaner car fleet for a luxury car dealer.

anyone know the story? did a dealer go out of business, bank repo a floorplan, etc?

Great write up by the owner! I never knew they officially imported the Vitesse.
