I just replaced the 360 I totaled at the track a couple of weeks ago (for all interested, I had a track insurance policy underwritten by Chubb - they were AMAZING - I had my check in 10 days). I decided to step it up and went with a 2009 F430 Spider...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

This car is amazing - much smoother on regular roads, more growl and speed, much faster shifting and I love the ceramic brakes. While it was totally unfortunate to lose the 360, I think it worked out ok!

Here are a couple of photos of the new one, and a cool photo of me up at Pocono - if you look behind me and the other F-car, you will see a film chopper that was up there filiming us!

Beautiful F430, sorry to hear about the 360, glad you had a good experience with your insurance though.

What was the chopper filming for, can we see the vid if there is one :D

Congrats on the 430. Perhaps consider tracking a dedicated track car in the future. Not everyone is as lucky as yourself to walk away from totaling two convertibles.

I am definitely considering a dedicated track vehicle...you are right on the money with that I think it is solely luck at this point to have kept me safe both times!

The show being filmed is The Robin Hood Rally (www.robinhoodrally.com). Can't share any video until it airs but "public clips" will be posted ongoing on the website until the show starts airing on October 16.

    Very good upgrade.
So you don't miss your 360.
Take care of her, more than to your 360.

Do you have your normal insurance with Chubb or just have a special policy with them for track events? I'm asking b/c I would love to track my car more often, but have to admit I'm a bit nervous about doing exactly what you did... and my current insurance pretty much switches off when the car rolls onto the track.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

I had special track insurance - it was an annual policy that covered up to 20 events.

Check out www.wsibinsurance.com. They were great to deal with to get the policy!

congrats on you new machine. very nice, enjoy her and drive in good health.

Also you would be the perfect person to ask.

Is the 430 spider worth $70,000 over the 360 ??? I was thinking of trading in my '02 360 spider (24,000 miles with tons and tons of mods, tubi ngt; hyper flow cats, vellano wheels, lowered, blah blah blah) for a 05 430 spider. They wanted $70,000 and my car. I LOVE the scuderia 16M and that would be a no brainer, BUT that is not an option

What would your opinion be on this trade ??? I was thinking of waiting to the 16m's came down in price and then pick up one in a year or so.

If you want improved performance, a 430 is definitely superior performance - a large leap forward over a 360 just like the Scud is a large leap forward over the 430 - not putting any of the cars down - just a fact - I have had all three plus a CS

I like your new car. I'm not generally a big fan of white but I like this one, especially with the challenge grill. I think it looks better than one on a red car.

    Post some more pics.

This looks like the car that was up at WWOC - I actually saw this car back in mid March, when I went to go take another look at it a few weeks ago they told me it was sold and delivered already. Good luck with it, seemed like a very nice car!
