after only 5 months of ownership... best of luck only one photo was displayed and slide show did not work
Funny guy this one ...but he can't be serious about selling his car. 69k or more ...another 355 dreaming owner... hummm only 5 months of ownership...buddy you have a keeper asking that much. he'll see, it'll take longer too sell then he has owned UNLESS he wakes up and drops the price. Now I see 355 are what dreams are made of because these owners can't handle reality.
What is your deal man??? The guy is a member trying to sell the rarest and nicest example of a 355 ever made. I'm not so sure he asked for anyones opinion on his price. Good luck with the sale. That's a beautiful car.
Post a link to a car like mine for less money. I'm listing it for what I paid for it. If you think that is unreasonable that is fine but I do not appreciate your condescending attitude.
If the price people ask for things really gets your attention so much then you better sit down for this one ;-) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-355-Spider-Ferrari-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a5a5b2081QQitemZ250624024705QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks
Certainly it has some "collector factor' to it. Who knows what he'll take? Never hurts to ask for top Dollar. He might get lucky.
Its a beautiful example of a rare model. TRUE! But the market doesn't agree ...that's the reality . Unfortunately This model deserves a premium
Thank you, I appreciate it. -And a response to previous comments. Though I'm not sure if it's necessary here's an attempt to clarify. I've owned over 130 cars in the past 16yrs. Some cars I keep for a few years and others a few days. When I purchase a car I try to find the best example possible. That way, if I have a hard time selling it there is no problem as it is a car worth keeping anyway. So, my car is available to purchase. In the meantime I will enjoy it. If someone else out there appreciates the car for what it is, it sells. If not, I continue to own a pristine GTS. No way I can lose.
Ok, lets take a quick snapshot of the current 355 GTS market. Fchat classifieds- 1 95 GTS priced at 65k firm. Ferrari market letter- none Ebay- 1 99 GTS priced at 78k buy it now. Autotrader.com- Red 1998 GTS - 79,900 Black 1998 GTS- 79,873 Yellow 1998 GTS- 68,500 DonJuan 348, lets find out who really is the dreamer here. Post a link to another 99GTS with miles similar to mine, optioned like mine with all maintenance/headers/etc done within the last 6 months for less than 69k.
That's a guy whose wife got on his ass about selling the Ferrari and he said "ok, baby, I'll put it on eBay and sell it!" than after six months he will keep the car, telling her "I don't know, nobody would buy the car-we just have to keep it."
selling the wife. Ferraris from here on out should only increase in value. The wife is a terminal liability. by the way, the video was a nice touch. shows people close up of your car. all prices you have listed are asking not sold for. second a couple of the cars have been for sell for a while. so whats ya point. for basically 70k + not many people are willing to buy a 355 when you car get a GOOD 360 for the same money. And before you can say they are not ... i know of 4 example that is going or have sold for 75k or less mine included. 348/355 suffer from the maintenance myth ... let's see how long it take YOU to sell your car and what it will sell for. that will settle this debate.
proven fact ...and adds to mi earlier statement. VERY few will be willing to pay 360 money for a 355.
So you can't find a car optioned like mine for less money? Didn't think so, and that is the point. And yes, I know I could have bought a 360 for less than 75k, probably could have got one in the low 60's/high 50's if I wanted a 50k+mile example such as yours though I don't see how that's relevant to the price of my car. I have seen many state that a late 355 will bring more money than an early 360 and the advertised prices reflect that. I chose the 355 due to personal preference of looks and removable top. Right now if someone wants to buy a 99 360 there are quite a few examples out there. If someone wants a 99GTS with a manual trans how many do they have to choose from? How many if they really like the options of my car and the recent maintenance?
This does not work for you? http://img697.imageshack.us/slideshow/player.php?id=img697/8517/1272746411bwf.smil
I think what your trying to say is the 355 is starting to hit the collector car market and the 360 is still a used car , right ? SDR
No, I'm just saying that if there's someone else out there like me that prefers a 355 GTS over a 360 they are basically non-existent in comparison. When I bought my car I was willing to pay a premium for it because what are my options? Either buy the car I want or keep an eye on the market for the next couple years hoping an identical car will become available for less money.
First, what's wrong with a car with 50k if it has been well taken care of. More times then not most issue have been worked out. Second, there is no question to the quality or rarity of your car. The question is how many people are willing to pay 69k for your 355. It only takes one, how long will it take. Your are asking 360 money.
There is nothing wrong with a 50k+mile car, never said there was, but it will obviously affect the price.
Ok I understand . A nice 348 sold for similar $ link http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27969 recently , good read , third or fourth post . I know BJ isn't the real world , but it ain't the moon either . SDR
