Cool, but I would have spent the couple extra bucks and got a larger seamless 3 panel LCD.

Anything is possible if you would like to make a suggestion. I am limited by the weight as the panels turn with the machine.

    That's awesome!

Is it their 301, 401, or some different version?

I hate to be rude, but what is the asking price for something as nicely done as that?

Looks like a 401 with custom mods. Sweet!

You are correct. The biggest mod was that I wanted no cables at all, only 220 power plug. Everything else is wireless (Monitor, keyboard and keyboard on simulator. I also wanted 360 degree motion as well as pitch yaw and roll. I kind of wanted bigger monitors but weight was an issue. Will be upgraded later as seamless monitors become available.

I wonder if a curved projector could be retrofitted...that would give the most realistic visual response.

Only problem i still have is these units are so jerky, and in real cars there is a lot of damping going on...road, tires, suspension, chassis flex...could there be some damping build into the rate at which the movements start/stop?

When I race on the track, I am not knocked all around like that, its more fluid movements. I don't know how a hard impulse hit from the right could make it feel like i was going into a right hand turn.

Didn't seem to be that way when I tested it in New York. I had just been to the Jim Russell course at Infineon and I had him load the same track and car in computer. If felt pretty close to what I was feeling when I was at Infineon. Nothing is perfect, but for me this was the most realistic feeling.

Congrats! It would be great to be able to "race" friends also on the same setup as you :)

You're only a few miles away in Leucadia. It will be up and running in 2 weeks. I'll take your opinion.

Hmm..... I'll trade you rides :)

I really dig those 401's. The Force Dynamics guys are really great engineers, we just have different concepts in motion theory. I run into Dave from time to time. It's good fun to geek out with him on racing simulation for hours!

Seriously though, I'd be happy to host you here in our shop any day for a comparison. It's not every day you run into a FD customer to compare notes with.
