Orphan. Better than I expected with a great twist at the end. The only problem with it was that it requires everyone but the villian to be stupid and gullible to move the plot along.

I saw The Back-Up Plan yesterday with my family. I rate it a 4/10. Seriously, it's what you would expect of a typical romantic comedy. One of the worst movies I have seen in a while. I laughed at some of the scenes/lines, but it was pretty bad.

The Station Agent. Nice "little" movie (sorry) about a dwarf whose best friend dies and he goes to live in an old train station in the wilds of New Jersey. Good cast, good acting.

Hurt Locker. Liked the action and documentary-style camera work. Didn't so much like the plot...seems like too much free-lancing on the lead character's part. I just couldn't accept that he'd go off and do all those things.

Well,Im at school, and Fchat is unblocked. All the proxies are blocked,so no Facebook or Myspace or anything else.
Thankfully,I brought a USB stick with 2 movies. Wangan Midnight The Movie and Initial D Third Stage are on there.
Im going to watch Wangan Midnight so I wont have to strain my eyes reading subtitles on ID.

EDIT-Our computers just see them as a music file.
    CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP.

We watched last year's Star Trek last night...great charaterizations of the young crew of the original Enterprise, particularly Spock, but the story got way tooo convoluted with time travel, corny villains, etc.

Wait a minute...convoluted stories, time travel, corny villains...that's the way Star Trek has always been.

My wife and I love movies like this but after the car rolled down the hill, I couldn't watch it anymore. I don't like movies that make me mad.

"stupid and gullible".....thats too kind. My wife finished it though, she liked it.

Just finished Avatar, as I said in the other Avatar thread, credits still rolling. I liked it, I felt some parts were way to drawn out (won't explain it in detail, don't want to ruin it), but it was really good. I don't understand the hype, but I'm sure it looked amazing in IMAX 3D.

I just got back from Nightmare on Elm Street. I was surprised how well done this movie was. If anyone is into that genre, I would suggest seeing it.

Sherlock Holmes. Very well made but completely forgettable. I absolutely hated the music from start to finish as well.

Never went to see it, but saw various trailers for it and thought this has nothing to do with reality. Not that Holmes ever did, but this was just too much of an anachronism. Reminded me of "Wild wild West", another cross breed that didn't work.

Last movie I saw: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Silent movie from the beginning of last century. Still fun.

If you liked Caligari, try Nosferatu. Truly eerie Dracula story from 1922.

As for me, the director's cut of "Beowulf." Grendel is one scary MF,

One giant WTF movie. Made very little sense, I wasn't interested in watching it either, I came close to falling asleep a few times.

Not to belabor the point, but there's ANOTHER "Nosferatu" movie that's really good.

Shadow of the Vampire came out in 2000...it features John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe. It tells the story of the making of "Nosferatu" - only in this one, the lead actor Max Shreck really is a vampire, and director F.W. Murnau uses him for authenticity.

Clever and scary, too. Dafoe is really good and perfectly cast.

What the ferk was Downey thinking?? anything?? the worst dialogue I have heard for a long long time (and I've seen some clunkers!)...the usual blockbuster special effects, totally implausible at times....

Several hours of my life wasted at Iron Man Chew... :-(

He Was A Quiet Man - the story of an office loser who contemplates going on a workplace shooting spree...until fate intervenes...or does it?

Not too bad. Kept me off balance until the end, although you may see the twist long before it arrives.

Christian Slater is good, and so is Elisha Cuthbert...actually, she does an especially good job.
