Well, MS might have beaten Nico, but he was still 1 min behind the winner!! Poor Lewis. I do feel sorry for Hamilton, no one deserves that to happen to them on the last lap. Was lucky to be able to turn it a little otherwise it could have hurt had he gone straight in at that speed.
W00t Webber wins ! Fantastic drive by Mark W00t Alonso 2nd! A great result for Ferrari. W00t Schumie held off a much faster Mclaren. Image Unavailable, Please Login
did you hear him on the radio early in the race? "Charlie, you need to do something about these backmarkers" Referring to Charlie Whiting, because he knows they monitor the radio. Arrogant little ****, telling the race director how to do his job, to suit Mr Hamilton.
Please don't take me the wrong way, I don't particularly like the guy, I just think it's really hard to go out on the last lap no matter who they are. Having said that there was some talk about him being hard on Tryes. This of course came from Mr. "I love Button" Brundle.
good old 165 races and not ONE win Brundle I want Jonesy back commentating, at least he knew what he was talking about
How about Jordan after the race telling Horner that the wrong Red Bull won. Ohh you guys watch ten so you would of missed out on that one
What did Horner say? Mark out drove Vettal in this race IMO. Deserved the win. First complete dry race weekend and he was at the pointy end all weekend. Funny how Brundle and Co keep going on about it being the car. They didn't keep harping about it when Brawn were dominent last year. Oh that's right Button wasd riving. Mark was unlucky to miss out a few years back at Monaco. I hope he can reproduce his effort at Spain this week.
and Vettel broke his car by over driving it, no brakes left at the end. Similarly, Hamilturd pushed his tyres until one gave way. Now that F1 has ceased to be a series of sprints between pitstops and is back to being a long race, we see the advantage of drivers with experience and judgement, not just fast reflexes and absence of fear. Still have the overtaking problem though, they've got to do something about the "dirty air" issue. We need a dramatic reduction in rear downforce. I think flat rear wings (need something to punch a hole to allow slipstreaming) and double the width of the rear tyres to put back mechanical grip.
Yes. When Martin+Co aren't on. Jordan is usually rambling the dribble. He practically bags everyone out all the time. Horner said, they don't have favourites in the team and gave Jordan the "what an arsehole question" look. I rather they talk Button up then Lewis Remember this is BBC for the UK why would you expect anything different. It would be nice if they weren't so biased but it's still better then having an Ozzie commentating team
Yeah, I watch it on ten and don't understand why the aussie blokes in the studio have to interject coming into and out of their ad breaks, adds nothing whatsoever to the broadcast. Speaking of ad breaks, you can only call that another nail in the coffin for free to air F1; there's too many and they go for too long. That doesn't work in motorsport broadcasting so I look forward to the day when subscription television takes over the rights to F1
Agree 100% there. Yep, that Greg Rust is just as biased towards Webber/Stoner as Brundle is with Hamilton and Button. I like Button, he's a nice bloke. Not trying to compare but you need an ex race driver who can not be biased. I think for eg Mark Skaife is unbiased in his commentary on the Taxi's. Even though he is aligned and has driven for Holden most of his life he at least gives credit where due for Ford and the drivers. OK, I'm being biased because I like him.
Not happening anytime soon. Ch10 bought the rights from 2011 to at-least 2015. The rights do bring streaming and practice options.
I have always believed there should be NO wings then it achieves the 2 main talking points of F1 : 1. lowers the speed 2. increases overtaking how can F1 keep pumping out the lie that it improves the breed of the normal car if it just keeps using wings and aerodynamics to increase the lap times, let's see them do something with a car that has no wings that translates to road cars. I like the idea of wide tyres but how about improving the front traction minus the wings ?
I found the race to be pretty boring...besides the Vettel and Hamilton incident it was just follow the guy in front of you....The MS fending off Button was ok as well
