Webber could have gone much faster, he was cruising for about 2/3 of the race...

Both rosberg and schumacher asked for the car to be changed. they only moved bits of the suspension so if rosberg wants to go back he should do so.

And Nico's understeer got worse than ever.

Yeah, that's exactly the way it is done with Schumacher. The way Irvine did it. The way Barrichello did it. The way Massa did it.

If that were the case, then both would not have requested the same style of upgrade. Both wanted less understeer and more weight placing options at the front.

Wait, who said these guys are unbiased? This isn't the height of journalism, nothing wrong with the announcers having favorites, IMHO, as long as they don't constantly focus on them to the exclusion of all else.

I applaud him for being un-PC and making a joke at Ferrari's expense.

like i said, he's the equivalent of the fictitious character 'Maverick' aka Tom Cruise... drives by the seat of his pants...a wild card, dangerous, but very very entertaining...but of course, Hami doesn't sleep with his instructor:)

    You're sure about that?
    :)

Lewis has the impetuosity of youth and the hubris of great talent. For better and for worse. If he can temper it with good judgement he will be among the greats.

The kitsch of these metaphores is best expressed by some cheezy pictures.

    No problemo.

It will never be known if the Merc did indeed improve for both (but more for MS) or if it remained the same. As all the rest of the cars supposedly upped their game for Spain.
IE if Merc had brought the old car for Nico would he have finished even lower ?
In my opinion some tracks favor one drivers style over another. Some drivers are more confident on some and know them better.
Look at Massa. He even slayed MS and Kimster a time or two back in the day on "his" tracks.

IMO Nico will soon be handing it to MS once again.
Like next weekend for example. :D

I sure hope so. And since they'll be back on the SWB, chances are.

Is Nico holding a lunch box while Rubens and Felipe examine their contracts ? ;)

Indeed. They're reading the paragraph that defines them as #2 drivers who have to support their master at all times.

Alonso was the second fastest driver in the closing laps of the race, behind only Webber. Vettel/Hamilton were trading times for the most part until Seb's brakes went off, but they basically held a 2 sec gap most of the time following the pit stop. Webber, meanwhile, drove off in the sunset.

Neither of those two was really killing it after the pitstop. They controlled their positions, but they weren't gaining on Webber and Alonso was gaining on them. That's why I don't get the criticism that Vettel drove his brakes off (as opposed to the damaged spoiler causing his problem) and Hamilton blowing his tire out (as opposed to the reported rim failure).

    Innuendo becomes fact, I guess...

Yes, and it will be only worse in Monaco. It is a beautiful venue for a sporting event, but is more of a parade than a race. If F1 wants to have a competitive schedule, this would be dropped. If they want a big money spectacular site, well, they'll keep it.

Exactly. Some of the most exciting races have been Monacos ... and it actually is a very fast circuit compared to other cr@p street circuits. A unbelievable driver challenge.

Next the rest of you will be wanting all tracks to be ovals ... !

Monaco is an anamoly. A fabulous spectacle, you never expect to have cars passing there....
It's going to be disappointing not watching it Memorial Day before the Indy 500....

Monaco is going to be a parade, no doubt about that. The only thing that can spice things up this weekend is rain, and the fact there's a bunch of GP2 cars running together with the F1 cars ;)

I hate watching Monaco races. But i love the flow of the circuit, a real drivers circuit, as opposed to a typical Tilke circuit.

Kimi in the McLaren when he flat spotted the tire and the suspension failed because of it. I forget the year. To be fair, it looked like a random failure but I did notice every time there was a super slow-mo shot of Lewis he had a flat spot on that same tire that failed. Probably not the culprit but it likely didn't help.
