I have a nero 599 and am considering metallic black for the 458.
Other than the aesthetics is there any advantage of one vs the other?

It think the nero daytona color would be less common. Although it would be more difficult to fix stone chips. Some who have owned both colors on their Ferrari cars prefer the solid black but didn't explain why...
The majority preference clearly is for the optional thin spoke 'sport wheels' over the standard wheels. Also the 'racing seats' seem superior to the standard seats that didn't wear well (the flat area on the seat tended to wrinkle up) in 458's the journalists drove for a while. The carbon steering wheel with LED lights has mixed reviews with some considering it a 'must have' option and others saying the lights are a distraction.
This time make sure everything is 'TRIPLE' checked on the order!!!
Let us know what you figure out for your 458.

I am not a big fan of the Daytona Nero. I like black cars to be black. The metallic just seems to be a muddy almost black, but never will be black.

i agree. some prefer the metallic black purportedly because it is less prone to show dirt and scratches. i don't buy that argument.

I have metallic black on one of my other cars and have to say, side by side, when both are detailed, the metallic black will never look as "slick" as the normal gloss black. the metallic black almost looks dusty. However, when the sun shines upon it the metallic black has a flicker sheen that looks pretty amazing at times. With this sheen it almost looks like a very dark grey. The metallic black will most likely be far less common than the gloss black on the 458. You really have to see both colors side by side in person to make a fair opinion.

+3 I also faced the same decision. Saw both side by side. You cant beat the depth of the non metallic . It is a ***** to keep flawless.

This question keeps coming up, I've had both Nero 360 and Daytona 599 & Scud. IMO plain nero looks better when properly clean, daytona looks better when "slightly" dirty. Nero shows any dirt really early. Both show dirt way more than silver.
