Well there's always the possibility that the sale won't go through. But I think he wants to be over this so I'm hoping it works out in whatever is the best way for him. He has had it up for sale quite a long time. There are are some lessons to be garnered from this sale. One of them that's not so pleasant for Espada owners is that the price gap between a so so Espada and a really nice one (not a full resto) is not all that great.
Sorry, didn't mean to rub salt into your wounds. Looked like an incredible car & one I'd love to own if I had the scratch available... Somebody got one heck of a deal!
This is not to be taken personally, as I'm just asking out of pure interest, but perhaps did the color make a huge difference in this case? I personally love it and its one of the 2 or 3 that I would prefer on an espada (blue metallic being one of the others), but everyone I asked didn't like it. I've owned a number of similar colored cars and they always seem to suffer at sale time. If it was Resale Red or another 'common' color I'd be willing to suggest it might have done closer to the mid 50's. Another car that came to mind was the brown one which was converted to auto and back to 5 speed - seemingly a good car but unloved color choice and it went for a song. Thoughts?
I dunno, maybe. But just standard red isn't all that interesting to me. Gary's color red is much better. These cars need a combination that pops. I think maybe the black interior wasn't as wild as could have been done but in the end it's all personal taste. He admitted to making some big mistakes marketing it. I think it's probably a legit $50 -55K car so this guy got a deal. But I will concur somewhat that a different color combo might have moved faster. Ive seen a number of Espadas in factory original combinations that I found to be really bad but this certainly isn't one of of them. Just my 2 cents. Bob S.
+1 I don't think a lot of collectors understand that what they're buying was once a fashion statement, and can still be cool today.
gents got a message today from my assembler that it appears my rear window hatch struts no longer have the strength to hold the window up ! No oil leaks in them however Any suggestions , any out there for sale? Gary 8394 Ps i thought the green was kinda cool ........
I got my Countach door struts off Ebay. They're on there often. May still have the business card. Work perfect. They had listings for all the other models.
From the VLG database Sachs Stabilus lift struts, part number SG126002 I have no idea if they work but they're certainly cheap. http://www.woodys-auto-supply.com/mobile/mobile-auto-part-details.asp?prod=SAC-SG126002 I think they might be too small in diameter? That would look wrong with those larger plastic finishing pieces. I seem to remember places that can rebuild them too. You should be asking on VLG as well. Try the technical forum here as well about rebuilding them. Bob S.
I think that is it. contact them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-Gullwing-Lift-Supports-Lamborghini-Countach-81-Door-/330431236989?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cef3c8b7d
i was a little down today thinking just another thing to go overseas for and spend way more than i want to so these emails are a pleasant surprize especially the rebuild comany from Canada. The power of the internet and a common interest always impresses me . Thanks espada gents!! Gary 8394
i purchased this PDF off an ebay seller in Ireland who is a patent lawyer who was selling it as a PDF for one euro. Espada dudes however just got this for free !! Gary 8394
Dude your'e sick ya know ..you should write a book and call it 'Lambo man in T.O' ..LOL btw, we wanna see pics of the Espada man..too much typing and not enough pics lately
First shot a pirelli P4000e on a freshly painted rim in a Ferrari silver yes you heard correct Ferrari silver . After hearing all the BS about Campanolo colors I phoned Gary Bobileff who indicated for many years he purchased these rims NEW from the factory and that they were not blue they were not grey or grey blue as some very expensive restos have shown but the were in fact silver, a metallic silver in a satin finish and after a little research the closest match was a PPG 36750 Titan siber ( with a B) which cross references to a BMW # which escapes me at the moment. Upon close inspection of the rim you will notice the three bars above the almost rectangular hole . You will see that in my case these holes are not very deep like that of an early muira rim but rather almost filled in. This is a true Espada rim according to Gary B who indicated Lamborghini produced this for Espadas only so the rim was more structurally capable of taking the increased weight of the car. Interesting how many have actually looked at this on their own cars. Next a close up of the rare and to me anyways , desirable period eurospec "correct"CORONADO door mirror now in place on the very dirty 8394. Thanks again to Gary for this tasty tidbit Gary 8394 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Up in the air with the wheels off, there's kind of a Citroen silhouette there Thanks for the tip on the wheel color!
Gary, love the mirrors and what a bid difference on the rims now she's getting ready for the ball soon !
Looks nice Gary. Can you reveal any tips on how he got it in there so nicely? Done in three pieces or what?
Yes, looking very nice and clean Gary. When I did mine, I cut the blanket in 3 pieces. Philippe M. S2 7987
