James: this silver S2 was originally delivered to England I think. Awesome (as Emilio concurs) in Argento/Blu.

Do you still have images of the first LP400S in Australia? White/tan, S1, RHD, you know the one I mean...

I was reviewing these old postings about Countach brake calipers, but I need the front discs. Are those BMW parts also? Any leads on where to find front discs for a QV and what they cost? Raymond or Chad? You guys probably know.

I have not found a rotor replacement.
I hope Chad will one day put a brake kit together.
You can also call Wilwood, not email. I've thought of doing this and would expect them to say "ship us your rotors (and calipers).

Sorry if is mentioned in last 325 pages, but I was wondering if any of the Topshelf Historians here might know.......1. What was the highest U.S. dollar amount paid for a Countach, and 2. Why, is there anything unique about this car, is there a story to the car, the previous owner increased the value , just the cars market value, or someone throwing money around?

I just thought this might be interesting......maybe even the top 5 highest paid?

As long as this doesn't jeopardize the owners privacy in any way.

Publicly, the top number as recorded by Sports Car Market for the sale, of a Countach was for the 1976 Lamborghini Countach LP400 1120204 (ex-Adnan Khashoggi) sold by Russo and Steele in Monterey, CA on August 17, 2007 for a total buy in fees of $533,500. The car was unique to the person who bought it (RHD), the previous owner (Khashoggi) perhaps increased its value a little, the market was high in late 2007, the car had been nicely prepared by the seller, and the buyer was very well-heeled. A perfect storm.

Privately, I have sold an LP400 for in excess of $600,000, but I'm not at liberty to say which one or when! Similar factors as above.

Peter, well I bought a set of LM002 front brake discs, and when they arrived in the mail today they only had five holes instead of eight. But they were in Lambo packaging so I wanted to see what they were for. I took the front wheel off the Countach, and determined that these so-called LM discs are really Countach discs. Now I have an extra set of front Countach discs and I think I won't return them so I can have an free set to source a cross-reference. They are only 11 3/4 inches in diameter (same as on the DD), not the 13 inches Lamborghini printed in all the manuals, but that is no surprise because much printed matter from Lambo is incorrect. They are 1 1/4 inches thick with a 2" hat. I might carry one to a BMW dealership to see if it matches any 80's M5, M6, or 7 series as some have suggested. Or if anyone has a better idea let me know because we need to find the cross-reference for these discs to keep our cars on the road!
