Is the rampant shilling and 'this is the real deal'' commentary for almost every car, driving you from the HD Theater broadcasts of Mecum auctions. It becomes so unsophisticated that I can't watch much anymore--even as background. Anyone else's experiences?

You think it is 'bad' at Mecum, you should see the Cruise auction (now Aburn Auction)

    Don'tcha mean Kruse > Auburn?

Mecum is he-man Beanie Baby overhype, either way.

How long are the buyers waiting to get the title for the car they purchased and paid for at Mecum these days?

What drives me nuts about the televised portion of these auctions is the endless stream of Corvettes, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, etc.

I know occasionally there's a Euro-car in there, but not enough. I have yet to see one E-Type or "every-man" Ferrari on these shows. I saw an Iso once...that was about it.

Which is why I much prefer shows on HDT like "Chasing Classic Cars" or "Wheeler Dealers".

Sorry for the rant...but I bet being there in person is almost as boring.

There isn't opportunity for anything close to objective commentary on these show--Mecum, BJ on Speed because the contracts must enforce the constant shilling by the announcers. Remember how Keith Martin was ejected from BJ? What I can't figure is how Mecum has any leverage with a network like Discovery.
