yeah, selling it on ebay. Started at $40k, no reserve and no real interest! Yes, plenty of people who want to trade and others who would like to pay me more than I'm asking (if I refund them the difference), but no real buyers.

I really thought that was a low enough number to get some buyers. I even had one guy offer me $35k! Crazy.

What do you guys think? Is the market this bad?

Yep...people are just trying to pay their rent right now. I like the way you added the major service to prove it was done. Nice touch!

It's a stunning car, don't let Ebay fool you, there are buyers out there, just not looking on Ebay. If you have the patience, I say take it to the Barrett Jackson near you next spring and you will get easily $50K+ conservatively.

I wouldn't say that potential buyers are not looking on Ebay. In my experience if you are shopping, you are probably looking on Ebay at some point, there are many unusual cars that pop up. That doesn't mean everyone would buy using Ebay (for many reasons), but almost everyone at least looks.

For whatever reason sometimes cars just sit until the right buyer comes along. The interior/exterior color might put off the majority of buyers, who knows. That doesn't mean it is a bad car, just not what most people think they want.

People get really picky about small things, like a white int. Well actually that's not so small for some people, but what I really meant is like the normal wear on your seat bolster. For a very small investment, you could get some Leatherique repair stuff to touch it up, & a little touch up or clean up on your airbox can go a long way, considering how good the rest of the car looks. A lot of people (like me) can see past these minor things, but to others it could be a deal breaker.

Drew that is a gobsmackingly beautiful Testarossa. I love it.

I love the white throughout. I hope you reach your expectations.

If it were mine it would never be sold......

The white/black interior is beatifull. The white exterior color is the problem IMO, not that it dosen't look good but white is one of the worst re-sale colors for TR's. Someone will come along...it's a waitiing game.

Greg, it has vice written all over it. :)

That must be a good thing in Miami.

    I like it, too......will you finance it??? :D :D :D

    That's really nice!!

I LOVE the color and fixing the minor leather wear would really be a small matter, indeed

Phil, I agree. The Vice factor is big on fchat but white cars are definately a little softer in the market. I would buy it if I didn't have 3 sportscars already that I don't use :)

I would agree on the white thing with any other car but a Testarossa and a Countach... When the time comes, my white 328 is going to be tough to sell!

Looks like a very nice TR --- but, white on white is a VERY specific taste --- and, may make the car difficult to move.....

im still old school...fleabay and ferrari for sale sounds like an italian eating chef boyrdee pasta...just doesnt go. For advertising, i think you will get good exposure....but i wouldnt worry about the no bites...i think you priced it too low ...so its the its too low, it must be too good to be true. The guy that offered you 35, i would have sent him a picutre and circled it - keep your money

I think that's the best color combo for the interior on a Testarossa. That black dash looks soo much better than the brown.

don't let ebay scare you. everyone who bad mouths ebay either buys or sells on there.

its just another venue by which to sell...

i think its the white interior ...take off one of the mirrors and place the other one higher and it might sell faster

It's $28K parts car. Part it out now while some people still want the parts off them. J/K :) I wouldn't sell mine for anything under $70 I just want to cull the herd by about 6,000 units to up my TR's value :) :)

I think your white/white TR is an awesome car, there can't be more than handful ever made like that. I've seen white seats, with black dash and center console, but never a white console! I would really like to know how many were made like that. A spotless white Testarossa looks every bit as good as a red or black one in my opinion. Very classy ride. If I didn't already have a TR....I would buy it for 40k in about 2 seconds!

I think the white-white/black color combo is what sets this car apart, in a good way. The black dash is a major plus.
Too bad I didn't see this a couple of years ago.
I "settled" for boring red instead.

First off, I am wary of everything I see on ebay but if I can look at it in person and get a PPI it's a moot point.

Advertise in trade magazines or traditional online venues like Autotrader, even Craigslist. I've done national searches on Craig's and have found some pretty interesting deals.

If I had an extra 40k I would be on as long as the running gear was sound.

I think the non red cars are the best, shows some imagination (no offense to those that have red cars)
I recently had a Black over red 512TR follow me home, the color combonation is perfect for me.
I found mine in the Ferrari Market Letter. When I am looking for a car I start there first.

It won't work in this market.
TRs are NOT selling, even at wholesale.
