So, perhaps new owners were not told to break-in the pads first resulting in undesired performance. How about other owners from Fchat or really inherent to us only? MP, u bought your SL new, how does it measure up since Lambo's CCB is widely criticised in magazines. Owners have found that you need time to adjust to car's character which is absolutely fine, a privilege motoring jounalists don't have. I am very happy with Porsche's even though mine's used. It's very easy to modulate either cold or hot. It's so good that I'll have it installed in my future Porkers.
So is it a brake pad or brake pump issue. Both are kinda different though i guess the result can be the same ie: an inability to stop.
The bedding in of pads is only for new pads, and more critical if you also have new rotors. Once pads have been used they are bedded in already. U can't go and re bed them in. Bedding in refers to the mating of the psd surface perfectly to your rotors. And heat cycling them as well for max performance. No, scud pads are not special. All pads need to be bedded in. Even on a Toyota prius. Just that one would not notice a well bedded in set of pads at such low performance levels as compared with a high performance car such as the scud.
Check out the quality of this "replica" & of course the price http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C152238/
U guys will love this video. Please tell me how you can download it http://www.fhm.com/news/sexy-nsfw/miranda-kerr-naked-daisy-lowe-naked-and-on-and-on-20091222 O, watch your back though!
Downloaded in 3minutes..i use a software called IDM, can literally download ANY streamable media on the net...youtube etc Try find the making of the Pirelli Calendar last year
With our local speed limit, maybe thats the reason why only Singapore owners are experiencing this problem, hahaa!
I think its a different material too as I know that the Porsche and Lambo CCB more or less works from new. Definately no cannot stop in time feeling! Well, probably Scud pads are very optimised so need special procedure to bed in than it will work incredible!
Thats good, so yours resolved mine can solve too Tim, have you changed your Stradale brake pads before?
yup that's the one .. he is still considering it. I've actually told him that I think he should look for a 275GTB or similar, rather than going for a replica, albiet a so called "official" one
But this replica seems like it will feature relatively more modern engineering than a true classic which may improve its drivability and enhance your friend's enjoyment of the car. I'm assuming that if his idea of fun is driving a car that's really difficult to drive and might break down on him at any moment, he wouldn't even have considered the Bugatti replica.
Absolutely agree with u on that. No matter what a replica will never have provenance nor history, something a fully sanctioned factory rebuild/replica will never unfortunately have...
subjective. yes, compared to what many thought it would be; no, compared to the panamera which is what it is currently being benchmarked against.
No one told the owners... the dealers themselves did not know. There where no instructions from Factory.
I've just learnt that the incident is properly resolved by the parties involved, in a mutually satisfactorily manner. As per their agreement trackside that day, the car behind was to cover the one in front's repair cost based on a detailed survey by a mutually agreed workshop, and repairs done to that workshop's recommendation. That, to me is a really fair way to resolve this kind of situation, so thankfully the above suggestion need not come into play. Seems like all is well now..
