Definately all brakes need to bed in but the difference in braking power from new and after bed in in the Lambo or Porsche CCB is no where as huge.
is your tub the only one is Spore? When i was at Monaco 2 yrs ago for the race, saw a couple of jaw dropping tubs. Where do you park yours?
After giving the matter some more thought, I think that our speculations over this track incident was not very fair to the parties involved. Mainly due to the fact that we were not aware of the settlements and agreements between the 2 parties, and the fact that the decision to bear the costs of all repairs to the car in front fully, was made right on the spot on day 1 and never wavered. As a result, the comments that transpired henceforth, merely became speculations which were inaccurate, and some of the insinuations caused misjudgement to the characters of the parties involved, when in actual fact, it takes quite someone to immediately stand up and offer assurance to help the guy in front. In many other cases, most people will just try to find some excuse to weasel their way out of the problem. But the quick settlement in this specific incident gave good resolution to a matter which would otherwise have gone ugly. So, contrary to many of the posts that contained more speculations than facts, I'm pretty impressed with the guy's promise to reasonably restore and repair the wrx, now that we know the full facts to the case.
will be mate, when it arrives ... will be berthed at 1-15 ... & again planning 6 months here & 6 months in phuket ...
Cues *wake me up when September ends*..haha Uncle Lung, will yours be in Rosso Scuderia, and with the original rims?
Oh come on..please?? Sigh, what to do..now gonna have to wait all the way till September Hahaha, ok. Now my imagination is conjuring up possible rim to colour combinations
Does this bedding in process only work if you do it soon after you change the pads or can you do it at any time? And how hard does one have to brake from 200 to 70 in order to properly bed the brakes in? My dad and I actually did exactly what HSM told us to do soon after we got the car when we went for a trip to Malacca but I found no noticeably improvement in the car's braking power after that.
Good question! The truth is I am unsure, I have not taken it to speeds above 120km/h and the milage is rather low less than 1500km.... However, the brakes are not so responsive when cold! The HSM people tested the car at normal road speeds and concluded that the brakes were ok, so the verdict is still out!
it's a LHD rapide on a (slow moving) tour. i may be biased but it looks better in the flesh. however, the rear entry aperture is relatively small and high-silled so there may be slight difficulty to ingress and exit. there are currently about 13 dbs in singapore of which only 3 are manual. the price difference between the manual and the auto is about 15k.
Dan, bedding in is probably a process to let both the surface of the pads & rotors adhere to each other better like mating So, it won't cause uneven wear. When I upgraded my pads on my ex-M5, they didn't do it properly & had to add shims but when it's hot & expanded, it has screeching sound like running your nails on a blackboard! Got to do a 2nd time to get it right. You won't need 200-70 for regular job. Just hit our expressways then do some gradual then hard braking for a few sessions but watch your rear-view mirror! OK, this is what I found on a quick google just to clear it up. It's a whole lot wall of text if you bother to read, I didn't http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedintheory.shtml http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedinperformance.shtml
