Well, this pales in comparison to some of the garages in this thread, but I've done it all my self!

    It's ready for a nice 360 Spider now :)

This March, we began renovation of the garage I described earlier, shown in photographs posted in this thread. Here is what it looks like now. The garage's back wall has been torn down and the roof extended. This deepened the garage from 5 meters to about 6.5 meters. Instead of a solid back wall as before, we now have openings for large low-EV glass windows. This should allow light (without I hope too much heat) into the garage and a view of the small pond and hill.

The long section of the garage has six bays. The 6th bay (an addition) is to be the new working area, with an epoxy floor and hopefully a MaxJax 2-post lift. I plan to move my tool cabinets and work bench to that bay, which can be closed off from the other bays with sliding translucent polycarbonate screens.

The roof is supposed to be "green," with low creepers (perhaps bouganvillas) on a light-weight pumice/fertilizer/water substrate. Hopefully, this will keep the garage cool - important in the tropics.

The taller section on the right is for the regular cars. It is completely separate and closed off from the 6-car garage.

As I mentioned, I was quite happy in the small garage where I merrily worked weekends for 24 years. The garage on the new property we moved to 7 years ago was of course a big improvement, especially as my little collection had expanded, and the renovations promise more convenience and a better view of the cars. I was lucky to have been able to find property in the city whose shape allowed such a garage and of course to be able to build it. I hope the garage works out well.

We have installed the air lines and wiring conduits, so hopefully finishing will not take too much time. I will report on progress, but do let me know if this is boring.

    Best regards,

    Andy

That's just a simple two part epoxy paint from Sherwin Williams. $400 to paint the 32 x 40 that you see.

Hahaha :) Of course I'm KIDDING!

    Andy,

I love this! This is a really, really cool set-up.
Before I moved to New York, I made my living restoring old buildings.
I love every part of this post and cannot wait to hear (and see) more of your progress. Thank you so much for sharing your project with us!

    Best Regards,
    Dave

Very nice and entertaining, JoeyM. Great garage and collection too - a nice mix (is that a 996 GT3? Not too familiar with Porsches). Good of you to take the trouble of putting the video together.

Looks great! Can you provide some details on the type of material, installer, install time, etc.?
