Shucks, he'll be the gol' durned President of the United States, by then!!! ...and take Ted Nugent with him!!!
Kevin Schwantz raced bikes along Riverside Drive, that's a really good course, Lloyd!!!! I mean, just IN CASE they don't get the concrete done on these Jumbo Jet landing strips, and all........ This sounds like our man Tavo is going to be handling a LOT of money. Maybe get his phone turned back on????
I have lived and worked in the central Texas area for nearly 40 years. I have a fair understanding of the politics, the players, the movers and the shakers in this area and statewide. Coincidentally, I worked for some years in large commercial construction so I have a fair understanding of what it takes to build a modern Formula 1 facility. The Austin/San Antonio area is a wonderful place to live and I would love nothing more than to see F1 come to the U.S. and to this area in particular. In light of all that, it is crystal clear there is not the slightest hint of any chance there will be an F1 race near Austin in 2012 or any other year. As others have pointed out, these announcements may portend an F1 race somewhere in the U.S. during the next few years (most likely Indy), but certainly not in Austin. If I am proven wrong, I will gladly submit to any public or private humiliation deemed appropriate by anyone whatsoever.
Oh, come on...you can have a beer with me at the Broken Spoke, even if the Schumi doesn't show up!!!!!
Over the border, in a refrigerator rig full of fruit.... Small bills, non sequential serial numbers, you know the drill.......
Its becoming a much bigger project now - several hundred million to build the track plus several hundred million committed to Bernie and 150 million (upwards) to build CTA who as noted just now appear to be claiming the race CTA location here : http://centexairport.com/admin/files/Work_Continues_on_CTA_-_Elgin_Courier_Article.pdf We spent twice that just on a soccer stadium recently..........
+1 I know someone in Austin that's already involved with AMLS & he could single handedly pay to have the track built if he wanted to. Maybe name the track after his company... I don't know, would Bernie let another alcoholic beverage become a major sponsor? Just a thought
We do runway lighting sytems, too!! ..and I'm rather an expert on helicopter pads, after doing several for LifeFlight....... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I guess it's just a huge coincidence that it will be located right next to the very fancy Hyatt Lost Pines resort & spa that they built in the middle of no where several years ago. Very convenient.
Dude, I dodge the gunfire, and step over the bodies.......it's pretty bad, and you learn where NOT to be.... But you recall I grew up in Galveston, imports have always played a part.......
It's not 'nowhere" it's across the street from regisgtc4's ranch!!!! See?? My earlier comment on Highway 21 wasn't so crazy after all!!!! That red star isn't the Track it's actaully a current real estate listing for 10.5 acres, that came up when I Googled the intersection!!! "Speedy308's Parking and T-Shirt Sales"!!!!!!!! Where's that Robin Noel, now that I NEED him!!!
The red circle is the intersection in question & the area outlined in yellow is the Hyatt resort. As you can see, there is plenty of open land around that area... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm golden, a close friend has a $38K swimming pool over in Tahitian Village!!! LOL! "I see miles and miles of Texas" All the stars up in the Sky......." Asleep at the Wheel I'll see Brother Ray this Friday, I'll give him the 'heads up'.....
I'd be more than happy to help, and bid the project.. Shell Labratories is almost done, in Engineering/AutoCAD/BIM...
I pulled that from the Central Texas Airport website that has just now regurgitated the F1 press release and linked it to Jim Carpenters project....wrong spot??? I agree your desription 'between Kyle and Elgin" puts it in a different spot.
He does not know. We talked yesterday. Both of us know Tavo too. It seems its right on 130 but North of the airport and right adjacent to the CTA
