The main reason that I use the bra is to protect my 2 little spot lights hanging close to the ground. Not easy to find replacements and I don't trust a clear film vs. a stone at 250. At least the bra is thick and there is a space between the glass cover and the bra.

Like Tim said, you better secure the bra properly or it will flap and can damage the paint work. Clear film, I suppose, is good for most intent and purposes esp since you don't have flip up lights. And since Roger has mentioned that it can be kept shiny, then almost no contest with the bra.

Mulitple layers of the PPF film can be overlayed to achieve the protection that you need...

There is a special 3M sticker that's about 2~3mm thick for headlights & is designed to withstand certain amount of impact. My Murcie & 997 has it, both stood up very well so far. One of my old 911 had regular film over the headlight & the installer cut grooves into it to dissipate heat in case the glass self-shatter.

Ask for the thicker film for lights.

It's about S$250 for the film outside the windscreen & it does protect your glass from chips & certain stone impacts. No problem with wiper scratches but I had to remove it after two months as the Vicom inspectors have an equipment for testing "transparency" which failed as the extra layer added -5~8 degress. Think they need 85% for front.

Few weeks later, I had a rather huge stone impact right in the centre of the windscreen

The film for the windshield and the PPF will not peel if it is install properly and it will resist yellowing if you take good care of it.
The film will not scratch from the wiper but it does develop a lot of scratches from car washing if one does not apply enough water or soap to rinse the fine dust off.

Dear God, can you please make the stars aligned again or turn back time so Uncle Lung and MP can get back together and post in Fchat again? either way, you could also drop free siuyoke from the heavens so nobody has to buy anybody lunch in that way...win-win situation.

p.s. from a long-time F-car fan/ F-chat lurker who's always been fascinated with the wonderful people here but probably will not post till I can sign a cheque for my first F-car.

Hey guys, I recently took the plunge on a 2nd hand gallardo, does anyone here have experience with using an early model gallardo without a lifter in Singapore? I'm worried about parking issues and speed bumps. I tried to do some searches online but comments seem to be wildly conflicting...was hoping someone with an experience of local roads/carparks could offer their advice. Thanks in advance!

    God Blesses You.

Those two will never get back on their own free will. One wants face and the other that never baths is a cheapo. Which one has ever bought meals for my other children here and which one has not?

Congratulations & welcome aboard! Most of us have had/has a Gallardo so shoot your Qs here.

Please post pics of your ride & the specs please.

What do u need to know about the lifter? The nose overhang is very short so not much issue & always do the 1/4 turn steering or whatever u call it to let one front wheel to ride over the hump/ramp & you'll be fine.

Otherwise, KW should have a lifter system for you but it ain't cheap.

Thanks for the welcome! Nothing specific about the lifter, was just wondering if in the absence of having one whether it would be ill advised to enter basement carparks and such, but it sounds like just being careful should be ok for most larger carparks and such yea?

I'm only collecting the car some time next week after some touch up so will have to hold off on the pics. Its the earlier 500hp version and a manual, some interior changes but no real mods on it. Cheers.

A manual unit?? Black or silver?

I've been camping for one too. Don't worry too much about carparks, a little scrapping of the lip won't hurt too much but do approach slow. Is this your first "supercar" or u've been a long time owner of such.

I prefer the one you had two changes ago. If I recall correctly, it showed a woman's cleavage, much better than the current cleavage on show ;)

But wasn't your film on the screen a clear one and yet couldn't pass inspection? Shame about the stone impact but you know Murphy is watching!

MP - Thanks for the PM but what's stopping you from posting a public reply? :D
