What don't you like..........

    When I got my 3.2 Mondial there was a couple of things that had to go. I am not into having a concours car but one that is personal to me, with changes that make it better for me.

    The first thing I got rid off was the steering wheel, the original, thin thing, is horrible. I replaced it with a nice 3 spoke OMP suede 380mm one which feels so much nicer.

    The second thing to go was that black pea that sits on top of the gear stick, it is so small and just doesn't feel right so that was replaced with a nice round larger chrome item, much better.

    What have you change on your Mondial to make it better for you ?

    Like MondialNeil, I have a 3.2 Mondi. Also like him, it's not a concours car, it's a driver.

    To each his own. That said, I have no complaints about the original steering wheel, and I could not see myself getting rid of the iconic (to me, anyway) original shift knob.

    What have I changed? Oil, oil filter, air filter, battery. Coolant. Belts are on the horizon.

    All I did was put on a steering wheel spacer. I have no desire/need to modify my 83 Cab.

    Do what you like to the car. It is yours to enjoy. Good to keep the original parts though.

    I don't care for our factory exhaust. If you want to hear the engine below 3000rpm that thing has got to go.

    On my GT4, the previous owner had installed a smaller MOMO steering wheel, which I've kept on, though I have the original as well. The stock shift knob was in place when I purchased the car, and I have upgraded that with a larger ball from Hill Engineering - a definite improvement, IMO. I don't purport to have gigantic hands, but the factory shift knob did feel a little too dainty for my tastes. Like the steering wheel, I kept the original for posterity's sake.

    What I dislike more than anything is the back ache that comes with every drive. The 308 has got to be the most painful sports car I have ever driven. The XKE the most comfortable.

    I think I REALLY lucked out in this department.

    My car already had:

    shifter knob replaced with a chrome one (dang that thing gets hot in the OK sun when I park it for a while)

    drilled pedals

    Tubi exhaust

    high flow cat

    Yoshield Scuderia Shields (installed by Yoshi - since this was Yoshis car)


    So, I dont have much to complain about at all with my car.

    At some point, the car may be considered a "classic" and you or someone else will want to put it back to original.

    As most of you have certainly seen I have changed many things:


    First of all, I started with an Euro model !!! :)


    Steering wheel ( not that I find it ugly but I prefer my Nardi Classico Wood )

    Wheels ( OEM are too conservative and IMO dated so I put 18 inches Forgeline SP3 )

    Shift knob ( not that I find it ugly but IMO a black plastic ball is unacceptable in a Ferrari ) so I bought at Ricambi the nice Chrome finish metal shift knob.

    Aluminum pedal set to match the metal finish of new shift knob and steering wheel.


    Other changes to come:

    Lower and stiffen suspension

    Mondial T pop up rectangular lights ( Euro yellow ones, thanks WillyB!!! )

    Improve the engine
