What event is that? The annual Porsche Driving Experience thingy? Yeah besides Jon's ex-Murcie, I know of one or two more manuals around. For 360 and 430, I only know of one each.
Well I've not seen many Murcielagos, all were E-Gear And exactly, I long to see a manual F430. The metal gates are just so arousing If Ferrari's intentions are being shown through the 458 i.e. no manual option, I really dread the future of motoring. Hahahaha it'll come, but when it does I suspect the Logitech Driving Force GT will be very much obsolete
Yeah. I think that's the event Raymond's asked me to go to. You know.. If you read back far enough in our little thread, you'll find that a few other fchatters also have manual modern exotics
I think Murcielagos are not supposed to have E-Gear. This is why Kobe Bryant had to custom modify the one that he bought for his wife because she could only drive auto. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Murci%C3%A9lago#First_generation Wikipedia might be wrong though. Also I fail to see the point of having manual on an extreme performance car. Manual is certainly fun, but ultimately not conducive to performance.
Hmmm according to Wikipedia, the standard's the manual, and the optional is the E-Gear. Other way around for the SuperVeloce A little trivial knowledge: Saleen calls their semi-automatic / paddle-shifter technology Pleasure Shift
"In March 2006, Lamborghini presented a new version of its halo car at the Geneva Motor Show; the Murciélago LP640.... A new 6-speed "E-gear" sequential automatic transmission became available as well." - Wikipedia
Can register on the local Porsche site I think. Basically you pay a fee for a one or two day training course where some Porsche instructors will let you try out a few models and go through different courses for handling, braking, driving lines etc. Haha I'm too lazy to dig back 3000 over pages!
Sounds pretty attractive, but is it actually fun? I'd hate to go there just to find out I'm spending 90% of the time in a Cayenne.
You're welcomed mate. Found them by accident. I just asked Andy of ES @ the SL event & the manual for Lambo is now an option Hope they don't even charge u S$30K extra for asking manual! Anyway, much as I love manuals, it'll soon be a dinosaur thing & people from 30yrs later are going to ask us how do we match clutch & gear change not to even mention doing double! I'm looking @ a 1934 car now. The accelerator is in the centre with the brake on the far right. Gear changes are in opposite directions while the rear wheel brakes are activated by pulling the long handle-lever on your right & the rears are supposed to work better than the front! Mind boggling......Those racing drivers back then must be wondering if our present cars came from Mars!
I saw them in awe..... this is a very precious picture to me as it was very difficult to shoot these cars while driving in the Mille Miglia. I heard them coming up behind me & quickly pulled aside on the mountain pass then jump out & shoot away. 1) they are usually very fast 2) they only move in convoy 3) U need to be @ the right place & time to shoot them! 4) I think there were like 8-12 cars in this event & all with the Press pass like me so I suppose they will be featured in some magazines soon. When they 1st passed by me, I thought they looked like UFOs on land with two round spheres on top which are actually the helmets of the driver/passenger in there. You'd need to see the car in action to know what I mean. The lines are so futuristic especially from rear with those smoked tailamps+LEDS & unlike anything else I've seen to date. Only 75 made & sold @ Euros750K back in 2009 to SLR owners only! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another shot & well at least he waved! This was soon after the mountain pass above when we entered a very cold area with snow & all but visibility dropped to a mere few metres. If u guys notice the road above, that's supposed to be a two way "street" & there are cars coming by the left so accidents are just round the corner while we do the hill climb. That's where I saw a BMW support vehicle crashed into the wall, the whole nose was flatten & two front axles were folded back! Luckily the occupants were fine, a chilling sight as the right is few hundred metres down a valley! MP, maybe these cars will make u think twice about hating the 3 pointed stars. Oh it was co-made by McLaren Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks mate but unfortunately no. I couldn't find the battery charger of my V-cam before my trip so there were no videos & I like stills better as it captures images for you to savour unlike videos only that the latter gives you all the fabulous sound these cars make! Damn they sound good. Especially when a red hot classic Ferrari roars pass!
nice bro, thanks for sharing. any progress on the sls? c&c just sent me the spec sheet and some photos.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Murci%C3%A9lago#Transmissions There's that little table there, says Murcielago has an E-Gear option. Although I really wished there wasn't What do you mean in the future? My friends don't understand why and how I appreciate "those old, junky cars."
Listen children, God was never here to be funny. God is here to guide. I have only to blame myself for not watching over all of you, my flawed creations more closely. But God is here now.
Oh I actually hard this exact argument with my friend over this and I cited that able as well haha! I figure it was simply retroactively offered or something. Wikipedia is clearly contradicting itself here though. I only appreciate how the classics look. I don't think I'd actually really want to drive one
