are there any large/clear fotos of the 4/5C?
Very cool, Jim, I'm a bit confused. Will the P4/5 C be a smaller/same version of the P4/5, or is it going to be a completely new looking car?
well if you'd gotten to the party just five minutes sooner, you'd know 'bubbly' P4/5 on the outside, Scuderia bones with tweaked suspension and race motor. i can't wait to see this car being built...
Yes except of course for the broken hunk of J6's tail with original Le Mans dirt which happened when Bruce was Driving her and her tail flew off on the Mulsanne in 1967.
Jim, I hope you chuckle or giggle with delight every time you walk into that garage. What a sight. cheers
I hope you go with that... I can't actually imagine P4/5C being a different color to P4/5. All the best, Andrew.
Pieces from the car that "Bruce" lost when driving it hard at "Mulsanne in '67" could hardly be described as a civil event. That car was driven in anger. Maybe google is appropriate to see who "Bruce" is and where "Mulsanne" is. For those of us who love racing, this is like referring to Michael Jordan's shot over Craig Ehlo. No offense will, but this is more significant than a concours event. Enjoy the search and history lesson.
I am 49 years old. I actually remember the news report--Walter Cronkite. "In other news, racing great Bruce McLaren was killed today . . ." Walter Cronkite--so many events associated with his baratone voice. Despite his political leanings later in life, Walter had magic. OTO For all of his faults, I am glad that Ron Dennis had the good sense to keep the name. What a great sounding name "McLaren International." Just sounds elegant and fast.
Pebble. Villa d'Este. Meadowbrook. Quail. Greenwich. Fairfield. etc. and Historic Rally Trophies I won including one Presented to me by Nino for winning the Night Stage of the Historic Targa Florio in P 4/5. Don't think anyone else ever did that. A few momento's like The Stop Watch Steve used in his Movie: "Le Mans".
sorry for being so clueless. is the C built yet? the street 4/5 was based on enzo but the C will be based on a 430 scuderia? either way im sure it will be amazing
No the P 4/5C is currently the Blue Scud. Jim is breaking her in before sending her off for the transformation. Two very different cars with very similar clothes will emerge. Jim your my hero. Thanks for allowing us to be part of this even from a far.
Jim- Not sure if you've seen this wonderful film from this year's Nur24 race yet on VIMEO, but it's the kind of clip that's sure to provide some additional inspiration for your project. 24 HOURS IN 19500 FRAMES I figure those following along will enjoy it as well. >8^) ER
You've misunderstood what I asked, Jim hasn't and answered as such - I was asking about his trophies which are visable in the cabinet!
Agreed. I'm just not sure if it's "GTO" worthy though. But who am I to judge? I've never experienced it. As a side note, CBS (in some areas) is broadcasting "Racing into Darkness", a recap/documentary of last week's American Le Mans Series Monterey. Even though the race is only a quarter as long as the phenomenal 24 hour ones, it's definitely cool to watch and see how much goes into getting a car on a track, even for 6 hours. It started at 1:30 and goes until 3pm today, but hopefully will be reran at some point. I'm pretty sure it's produced by the same guys who did "Truth in 24".
