Yep a 250 Testarossa was wrecked last year at Monterey and on another board posted pics of it back in action at a Concourse. I'm sure it will be back racing the historics again this year as well.

I guess we need a definition for "wrecked". Its not the same as "totaled" is it?

that is true but the damage to the 250 testa was far worse than this little hole. The salvaged title on this car is sad imho. The car is probably perfect in every way and has this blemish forever because some insurance company loosely salvaged it.

I will say I don't know much about this CS. The 250 testa brushed a wall coming out of the corkscrew so it smashed some fenders.

I don't totally remember the story of this Salvaged car.

I've seen the TR pictures and the damage didn't seem severe given the value of the car.
While the CS may achieve the TR's iconic stature at some point now it is closer to being a used car and so the salvage title will effect value.

I don't disagree but in 20 years no one will care imho.

I've been searching for years now for a Good example 60's Ferrari to add because I can't afford perfect and you would be surprised at how many of these cars have changed paint color and interior color several times in their lives. 1 local 250 gto was white for 10 years and has since been restored to red in the past 15 years. It's still worth 10's of Millions. So this CS will have it's day in the sun right next the 288's of the 80's Salvaged title or not.

I'd have to agree that the CS will have its day in the sun. Might be awhile, but anyone looking for a Ferrari in this price range will not be able to find anything remotely as visceral or raw as the limited (relatively speaking) Stradale. No modern Ferrari comes as close to capturing the aura of past Ferraris better then the CS. And I suspect none ever will again given the direction Ferrari is heading, even with their "stripped" out cars....eg, Scuds and lite weight versions. The CS is definitely in a class all its own........and as time goes by, will be harder and harder to find "solid" examples, thus 15/16 yr old kids who love the CS now (and know a hell of a lot about them it seems)................. looking for CSs in 10-15 yrs will not care whether the car is "storied" or not.

Absolutely true but its today's market that's tough to set. At this point if they go down any significant amount it will be due to factors that have nothing to do with the car itself.

I did not notice it being said before, but since the car was "totaled" someone got a pay out for some % of the value of the car and someone else bought it at a % of the value of the car then repaired it. At this point the car has a paid down lesser value. Logically (perish the thought) the car should trade around the value of the re-purchase + repairs and someone should drive the heck out of it.

Sorry, but I can't come close to counting 47 CS's for sale at this time. I have been following the CS market the best I can over the past several months trying to get an idea of ask vs. actual, market conditons, etc. and there is no question the clean, low mileage, no stories cars sell quickly, but there seems to be a good 10 to 20 which do not move (for example the cars at Universal Auto Sports and the blue, black and grey exterior colors). Any thoughts?

Read the thread. A full list was posted with locations a long ways back. It's changed some but one Poster already lost a bet with the exact same question.

Very interesting, thanks for the info. What kind of mileage and options (color, stripe?, etc) were on that 116k USD Strad? Prices here are holding fairly steady given the number of CS's sitting idle in inventory. The cars that are selling seem to be priced/sold in the 120-130k range.
