No problem dude! I wonder why he didn't just make it 1:1 though, I doubt it would actually have taken 3x the time.

Yes & possibly cheaper since we can buy the pistons etc off the rack.

Well, I recently watched the movie Sayonara Itsuka, a Japanese love story about a young man falling in love with a beautiful divorcee just months before his marriage. It's set in 1970s Bangkok with some pretty passionate scenes ;)

But what caught my attention was the black Mercedes roadster featured in this movie which has always been my childhood icon of performance & opulence motoring @ it's finest but I never knew the mechanics of it. The Japanese actor was in awe when he saw it then pointed out all the independant suspension bits etc which were world's first & Federich Geiger in Japanese accent English.

WWII was the subject of my essays during O levels which this Mercedes falls into place since it was built during the rise of the 3rd Reich.

But below is a fascinating read of Hermann Goering & his Mercedes'es

Now that's what I call going out in style!!
But the guy probably can't afford it bro, hence I think the smaller ones would be easier to make?

I doubt so. The extra cost in manufacturing them yourself would probably be more than the savings enjoyed due to its smaller size. Does the concept of Economy of Scale come in here, from the factory manufacturing parts in large (Or at least larger) scale, hence it being cheaper?

Even ignoring the economic bit of it, I would assume popping down to the store to pick up pistons over the counter would be cheaper than making the moulds, buying / renting the machinery, casting the metal etc.

Wow, she's a beauty. One of my most realistic unrealistic dream cars :)

    Such a shame, I haven't seen a single 355 in Singapore. Actually, I haven't seen a 355 at all :(

Thanks! The current owners all love their 355s. She still excites me up to this day even before starting her up. Next event will be the local 355 get together. At least we have rounded up 5 out of 7. Anyone here knows who owns that elusive 348 spider? The one and only, so I hear.

    I think so.

I know that it is a full system - Manifold, straight pipes and muffler. ;)
