Thought the racing scene & trackdays are pretty active? How far is the nearest track circuit?

Yeah it is pretty active! My ex-girlfriend seems to go for at least two trackdays per month. The closest track is about 40 mins away from where we live. I think there are quite alot of racing circuits in Melbourne too. I prefer to go-kart though, because I'm completely hopeless at driving a manual car round the track. I'm sure I'll eventually destroy my transmission or something due to a particularly catastrophic downshift or even the cumulative damage resulting from an endless series of not so accurate downshifts :(

Cool! I take it that you gave her lots of practise on "gear shifting" and how to handle the knob well? :)

I run my car at night in the pitch dark country roads ;) There's usually nothing out there by 9pm, but there's always the potential danger of wild animals wandering onto the road. I think most of the cars that aren't just fast in a straight line are actually pretty expensive though!

In Melbourne, the cops don't give any allowance, 1 km over limit will still get you a fine. Plus the speed limits here are lower than SG.

But you know what they warned about garage queens esp with the rubbers and seals/gaskets hardening through non usage in our climate. I even make it a point to cycle my roof every week or two, just to get the hyd oil flowing through the seals for lubrication.

You would if you had a 355! :D. But seriously, some of these guys are so wealthy that they don't bother selling or driving their cars, just buy and keep to see. The proceeds from the sale makes no diff to their lives unlike me :p
