I totally agree with you. Very few of the front running original car in evidence and those that were there we a little too shiny for my liking

Funnily enough, I had breakfast in Rome with Rob Lamplough (running a 275 in the tribute). Rob is an ex GP driver from the 60’s and is still very quick in a car. He told me his last Mille Miglia outing was in the 70’s in his 335S s/n 0764 with the late Phil Hill . I looked the car up and found a quote that Rob turned down an offer of $9 million in the 1980's for the car but that it was eventually sold. I found some pictures of it looking very new at Pebble Beach so I suspect that is why we don’t see it any more.

Otherwise, your tdf looks great and I think I have seen it before. I raced in the Centro Ore in 2008, was the car there ?

    Regards

Back to pictures, of Ferrari and more.
I was once again in Brescia and once again overwhelmed by the frightening quantity of cars. quality was also here of course but I did not enjoy much; there's just too much for my senses. I enjoyed the Ferrari though

+200 HD pics here, enjoy http://www.arthomobiles.fr/MM2010/MMD1.htm

+1 Very well said. It would benefit everyone if they have grouped them apart. I was following the rally & often find myself sandwiched between the 300SLs & of course the modern SLRs!

There was also a very "cute" Fiat 600 in this year's. Let me see if I have it somewhere in my HD.

Nicolas, you have amazing pictures & you must have been @ the square very very early!

I also noticed that you have a good shot of car #117 with my friend driving his DB2. Can I pass this to him? I'll be meeting him next week & I'm sure he'll be pleased.

Regarding originality, the inspector questioned about the wrong headlamp on his car as it was supposed to be a Lucas unit which wasn't but they got lucky or might have been disqualified

He's very pleased to complete the rally as about 90 cars didn't finish this year.

You may pass the pictures (and the link to the site why not?) You'll also find some pictures of the DB2 in my Villa d'Este reports
    cheers

So when choosing a car to buy to enter the event, am I to understand that, as long
as the same model car was run in the event during the original event, it is eligible to enter? To use an extreme example, I believe I have seen picture sof a two seat Thunderbird and a BMW Isetta in the original event. So they aren't requiring it be the actual car that ran in the event--that would be too demanding a qualification.

What is the date of the next MM and have they issued a cut off year for the "newer" Ferraris to run the parallel event?

The cut-off year for the newer Ferraris is 2011. :)

Seriously, the Tribute runs Ferraris from 1958.

Regarding the MM itself, yes you can enter cars that have not run in the MM itself, but it decreases your chances of getting in. Unless you are a sponsor like Mercedes or State of Art, perhaps.... But for regular entrants: last year there were 1,400 entries for 375 places. I don't think it will be quieter this year.

On the date I'm not too sure as I can't get onto the website from here but I would guess 5 - 7 May.
