    Hi everyone,

I'm new here and new to Ferrari's. I recently purchased my first Ferrari (dark blue 355) and absolutely love it so far.

I've been in love with the wheels pictured below for some time and would like to fit them on my car. Any ideas on what their called? estimated value? and where to buy them? are they desirable to many Ferrari owners? All I currently know is that they are Speedline brand and they are very popular on 993 gen porsches.

    Thanks

    David

    Thanks guys...

I just absolutely love these wheels. Any idea how much a set runs or where I can purchase them?

The wheels were on my car when I bought it, so I can't help much with the price or where to get them. I know that there are reproductions on eBay. (Probably real ones too.) Someone else may be able to chime in as to a reputable source for the wheels.

They were offered for the 512TR. I think some are still listed on ebay.

I've actually been looking at the same type of wheels for my 348. When in production, it's my understanding that they were available in both 17" (348, and possibly TR?) and 18" (355) options.

Jeremy, your Mondial looks fantastic with those wheels. Is she ready to drive again? Send me a PM. Let's get 'em out on the road...

Are they more than 20 grams heavier than stock? If so, chaos will ensue.

Quite a bit so. Speedline multis are heavy.

Wade, thanks for the kind words. You know, I wouldn't have bought the car if I hadn't read your posts regarding it. I really do owe you a big thanks!

Thanks for the compliment. You know, the 348 is my dream car, and was shopping for one before I realized that I can't fit in them. When we get together for a drive at least I can drool over your car.

Interesting that you ask if it is ready to drive...

I've actually been driving it quite a bit lately. (My wife has actually warmed up to the car, which has helped.) Last week, however, we were going to take it out to a restaurant when the AC belt start squealing. I recently had the timing and aux belts changed, so I suspect that everything wasn't tensioned up properly. I went out this weekend to look at it, but I ended up getting sidetracked on a couple of other projects. I now have the panels off of the driver's side door waiting on a new mirror switch (from eBay) and door stop (from Eurospares). I also have the battery out of the car waiting on a battery box I ordered (from eBay). I've never trusted the battery to stay put during heavy cornering.

So, all I have to do is put the battery back in, put the door panels back on, and I'm ready to go! Oh, and I have to fix the AC issue. Oh, yeah, and restore the overflow expansion tank. And I really need to change the fluids... The last time I tried to replace the fuel filter I couldn't get the flanges off and gave up, so I really need to give that another try... I also just remembered that my horn sometimes honks when I turn right; it's disconnected at the moment, but I should probably take care of that someday soon... Do the projects ever end?! (Maybe I'll be ready for a nice fall drive.)

LOL!!! Don't wait till fall to get 'er out. Fall only brings more projects like squeaky brakes, fluid leaks and windows getting stuck in the down position! :D:D:D

David, keep an eye on eBay. I've seen a 2 or 3 sets there recently for $2000-$3000, and (I believe) there have been 1 or 2 on this site in the Ferrari Ads section during the last 6 months or so (not sure on prices - you can also list a "wanted" ad there). There is currently a set on eBay for $4995, which IMHO is way too high. I just wired the money today for a set of chrome 18's. Don't get in a hurry and keep your eyes open. You'll find a nice set for a fair price.

    LOL.

Nice choice in wheels OP, they should look good on a 355 if you can track some down!
