My fiancee and I loved Primanti's - maybe you weren't drunk enough? lol

We really like Adam's show, but some (ok most) of the eating challenges are disgusting.

Last month went to All American and Lafayette's in Detroit for coney island dogs, kinda liked AA better.

On a business trip a few years ago to Amarillo stopped in Big Texan, but customer wanted to eat somewhere else.

Got me too, I was not a fan of primanti brothers, didn't bring anything different to the table than you would find at any bar across the globe.

    So. So. Good.

Super tender and moist. I shredded mine instead of cubing though.

Sounds it. The Adobada recipe I made is twice cooked so shredding wasn't an option.

I actually used about 3lbs of pork tenderloins instead of shoulder. I prefer the cut for all except slow smoked bbq pulled pork.

Marinated for about 48 hours in the sauce with whole, smoked jalapenos (chipotles), some garlic, cumin and onion. Cooked at 400 for 45 minutes, let rest then shredded - just need one fork to do it :D.

Oh yea! Nothing like mouth watering patience.

I did cook and shred the pork with out sauce. Then fished out the chipotles and julienned those, added the meat and chiles back in to a reduced sauce. Tortilla and fixins not necessary. Spicy as hell though, the gauc and a touch of sour cream does wonders for the palette.

I wonder how changing the heat level of the sauce with, maybe, some Mexican chocolate will work? Seems like a mole is in order... maybe next week?

Guy seems to make it to New Orleans at least twice a season and I think I have been to all the places he has featured so far, all before they were on the show. So far I can recall him visiting the following places.

Joey K's (we were actually at lunch here when my wife went into labor)
Surrey's Juice Bar (a favorite of the wife)
Sammy's ( I eat there at least once a week)
Parasol's (Now Tracey's at a location down the street)
    The Rivershack Tavern
    The Creole Creamery

I have also visited the following after they were featured.
The Shed BBQ (Ocean Springs Ms.)
    Cafe Pita (Houston, Tx)
    Twisted Root Burger (Dallas, Tx)

I wanted to hit the Little Tea Shop in Memphis, but the people I was with were being tools! Personally, I have enjoyed every place and plan to vist more in the course of my travels.

I've been to Polka in Glendale (I think?) which was featured on Guy's show. I liked it.
