The book on the Breadvan is a fascinating read, also as detailed as one can get on a single car history. I also very much like the seperate interviews Marc has done with te people involved. Congratulations on this definitive book on the breadvan, wonder what your next book is about.

    Well pardon me for blushing:)

Thank you very much Boudewijn, knowing you are seriously knowledgeable your comments are much appreciated.

The history of the Breadvan is like a movie script and that in and of itself generated the material, all I had to do was find the people and ask the questions.
One GTO owner (please don't ask which) asked me last year if his car was worth a book and I had to be honest and answer no...that car just had not had much of a life.

I finished another book 25 months ago (not on Ferrari) and am in the process of getting my co author to do something or surrender the manuscript I generated.

I am currently buried neck deep in the third book, the most intricate and biggest job by far: "Maserati the Citroen years 1968-1975" which is closest to my heart.

I have no other Ferrari book project right now, a few ideas yes but don't even want to think about them before everything else is sorted out and I finish this one which is very interesting as no one had researched those seven years very extensively but also very complex.

It brings major satisfactions like last Friday being the first ever journalist to drive the one off SM V8 which was a great sea serpent of history for 35 years was very special, (like testing the Bora Group 4 at Paul Ricard last summer). It was an interview with paul Frére six months before he passed on that unlocked the mystery.

Furthermore while the Italians are always willing to talk (you just have to sort the wheat from the chaff) the French are very reluctant to be interviewed, I might as well be asking to pull their teeth...

Anyway thanks again, hope everyone enjoys it as much as you!

    best regards,

    Marc

    Hello Etienne:

sacrébleu maybe the booskeller is busy fare la siesta:)

No seriously they are in place in all the bookshops, have been for 10 days, keith Bluemel saw them at Chaters' a few days ago.

We are working on organizing a book signing at Le Mans Classic so if you want Keith's beautiful signature and my awful crushed mosquito one bring your books if you have them before then!

    best regards,

    Marc

    Hi!
I've just received the bood today morning.
No time to start reading it, but just to have a look and see some fantastic pictures.

Such gorgeous car deserved a proper homage like this.
    Thank a lot.
Nice book, can't wait to read it this weekend....

    Best regards,
    Alvaro.

    Hello all:

FYI there will be a Rebel rebel Breadvan book signing at Le Mans Classic on the Saturday at 11am at Chaters (stand 19-21 zone V1) where those who wish can have Keith Bluemel's fine signature and my horrible squashed mosquito hand writing! Needless to say if you already have a copy and want it signed bring it.

Look forward to meeting some of you there and maybe tell a story or two that were too....delicate to be in the book!

    best regards,

    Marc

I always start by asking to pull their teeth. It makes getting the interview an easier alternative. :)
