    Thanks for posting.

I'm still waiting on Clarkson....just love him to pieces. Mostly cause I know he'll have a self-righteous fit over the car.

But golly, I am waiting for this McLaren...wondering how it's going to live up to all the hype.

Dont worry the British press will find no fault with the McLaren and it will be the most perfect car ever made....

The Germans feel the same way about German cars. The Italians feel the same about their cars. What else is new?

If you use even a remotely modern and sophisticated web browser (ie: anything but internet explorer) you should not have any ads pop up.

Thats because he sees a Ferrari and in his own words "as a scaled down version of god".

There are loads of UK TV sites that do that, some American ones too. You can download the whole episode via bit torrent from here. http://www.finalgear.com/shows/fifthgear/17/1

5th gear is more about the cars which the average joe can afford, sure there are supercars but it's not the main focus. Think you need to wait for Top Gears test on the Italia if you want a proper more in-depth test.

    +1

Plus the fact that Clarkson is becoming increasingly annoying, almost a caricature of himself, and never lets the facts get in the way of the sound of his own voice.

I don't unless there's something of particular interest like the 458. Do you really think you're going to get a "proper in-depth test" out of TG these days? I assume you remember the dog and the granny in the Lambo?

I don't think TG (or 5th Gear) is much more than entertainment and commentary.

I remember JC recommended the 275 GTS over the 599, and hated the base F430 -- which he formerly loved -- once the Scuderia package came out. Earlier he thought the 355 was the best Ferrari ever made. All opinions of the moment.

IMHO, the problem is that modern supercar tests are getting inherently boring if you stick to the facts, because they're all basically the same. They're all really fast, all have driving aids, all easy to drive, all sound good, etc. So, you get stuff like the dog and granny in the Gallardo. Back when we had the Boxer, Countach, 930 and Esprit Turbo, the main similarity was that they all had four wheels. Now you have to be a bit of a nerd to differentiate the F430, 458, Gallardo, etc.
