I have been out driving and enjoying my 99 Roadster but I find after 20 minutes or so both my R & L CEL comes on. The DTC code reads P0111 which is an Air Temperature Sensor Fault. If I check the number of CEL flashes by turning the ignition key 3 times it comes up as 23 flashes which = OBDII System Failure. I can erase the code but it keeps coming back. I also read somewhere that it could be the interior climate control air sensor but I don't know. I find it odd that both banks light up at the same time because I doubt both sensors are failing at the same time. I would really appreciate any thoughts anybody has on this so I can get her fixed up.

    Thanks.

Honestly I think your OBDII device is misleading you. You really need to hook it up to LDAS to pinpoint the problem.

are you turning the key 4 times or 3? the 4th time you have to leave it switched on

    Not a chance.

Not if they share the same ground ;-)

Do you have any thoughts as to where I should be looking for a bad ground? I like your theory because the R & L CEL is definitely intermitent and they always come on together.

The bundle has a ground in the back middle of the plenums. But you should be able to trace the actual wires to confirm. And confirming you have consistent ground from battery/frame to engine would not be a bad idea too.

Thanks Mick, I'll check that out. I did notice after driving it around this evening that everything was great driving around the city until I took it out on the highway and starting going through the gears. When I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd at approx 5500rpm the light came on. This also happened one of the previous times so that's why tried it again and sure enough I got a light. Does this help explain a possible cause?
