Have not missed this event in 10 years. Mark Donohue is the honored driver this year. I understand they will have several Can Am 917's on display including a 917/10 and 917/30.

I want to try and take my son--I'd like to do it on Thursday or Friday, but may have to go Saturday. It's a great event.

I'm thinking Wednesday (French's test day) and Thursday. Depends on whether my buddy brings some toys along.

Is the Osthoff full? When my wife called last they had openings but required 3 or 4 nights stay. We would like to stay only 2 nights. Can't wait to show my 3 1/2 month old daughter Elkhart Lake and Road America for the first time! We were hoping that as the date drew closer they'd lower the minimum to 2 nights as they've done in the past.

If we can't get rooms then we'll probably just go up for the day Saturday.

The Historics is a great event every year!!!

If the main three places in town are booked I would try Blue Harbor in Sheboygan. It is a great place if you have kids but it is about 15 +/- miles away. 52 Stafford in Plymouth is styled to be an Irish Inn and is a nice place if it's just you or you and your significant other (5 miles away). When all else fails call the chamber of commerce and they will give you a list of places that are more than adequate but not elegant. There are also several B & B's nearby.

We often stay in the Blue Harbor. Fantastic place (2nd only to the Osthoff) and with the new highway 20 minutes away from RA's gate.

Crazy guy sounds like my buddy. Mike it is. And yes, he is coming with race cars and jet in tow (he'll be doing RA and Oshkosh).

French as in the mustard company. He owns a bunch of top race cars, including one of Schumacher's F1 Benettons. He normally runs his own private test day on the Wednesday before the Challenge weekend. Mike is normally one of his guests with his CanAm and/or his Indy car. So *IF* the test day happens AND *IF* Mike makes it with his racecars, I'll be there.

Is that the place on the lake in Sheboygan? I heard it's nice. When will you be up there?

Yes, that's the place right on the lake in Sheboygan. It totally doesn't fit in there. Belongs to California or Las Vegas, but I'm glad it arrived there. For me it is particularly funny since where it sits today, we used to launch sounding missiles back in the nineties. :)

*IF* I go, I'll only be there for Wednesday/Thursday because it'd be for French's test day.
