yes cali is a good choice for your mom. 599 is a little long and harder to park than a cali. if you are going for the ghost, you need to get her a driver, she is going to have a tough time going up some of the car parks.

I was reading about the 747 and 777 take off speeds and I understand what you mean by "Hats off to the engineers at airbus"..that's some SERIOUS ENGINEERING man!!!
Another thing I wanted to ask, is there an instrument on board that tells you your angles at take off and before landing? I mean, how do u guys know EXACTLY how much space is there between the tail and the runway?

you think so? i thought the ghost was a driver's car.. or at least thats what the marketing spin is, no?
I even briefly considered the rolls drophead but that is HUGE... undriveable on SG roads I think.

Cali.. yeah.. its aight, but just worried its a little TOO sporty... i don't think anybody on sg fchat has a cali though to chime in with their comments?

Oh guys, wanted to ask something. U know when u usually buy a Ferrari, you'll spec it in either Rosso Corsa/Scuderia/Fiorano because of a better resale value right? How about Lambos? The more outrageous the better or just play safe with Bianco and Nero?

Lung drove one for awhile, please chime in to give your impressions of the Cali :D

I haven't driven a Ghost, but I wasn't very impressed by the one shown at the launch. My dad drove our 745li there so that he could make a direct comparison. While the Rolls was clearly far more luxurious in terms of build quality and looked far more impressive than any mere BMW, it still felt very much like a car to be driven around in. The interior is actually smaller than the long wheel base 7 series but the dimensions of the car are slightly larger, leading me to suspect that it's actually quite challenging to drive. My mom already hates driving the 7, often complaining that it's too big. If your mom likes cars like that, why not get her a Bentley CGT instead?

Edit: Or maybe I'm just too young to appreciate Rollsroyces

Hmm I think the interior in size is comparable I have a few 7s its my preferred car to be driven around in but the Ghost interior is much more well appointed, no? It actually looks pretty cool, and certainly trumps the 7 and the S-class by a country mile.

Bentley.... ah no, no Bentleys.... :)

Wha... you don't like how this looks? You think the ghost looks 'old'? :)

clutch job still in progress. question - anyone know how long a murcie thrust bearing lasts. most mechanics list this as an option item in suqtation for clutch job n will of course change it if found damaged.car is at abt 30 k km- but the bearing looks ok , not leaking. engine out so can be changed but the bearing alone costs abt 5k :(

i have a 7 series long wheel base and the ghost according to andrew is a couple of ins longer. While driving the ghost should not be an issue, getting up and down car parks and parking it will be. I would not advise it. There was a recommendation for a gran cabrio, that's not a bad idea. Its got a auto gear box and it's not too big.

actually most dont spec their cars. the agent usually orders them and obviously order the safe colors or the in color Only a minority who are particular about interiors and other options do spec their cars. The number one color for Lambos in the last year is white according to Melvin. Most cars have bi color options for the interior. There is hardly any bi color interiors especially for Ferraris.

Even though the Ghost is the baby Rolls, it's still huge compared to other cars. All Rolls are too intimidating and imposing, even men may have difficulty manuvering, let alone women.

Lung drove IA's Cali for quite awhile so he should able to give some feedback. IIRC he was quite impressed with its ability to be a comfortable daily driver but also a proper F-car when needed.

If u think it's a tad too sporty then I would agree with the rest that the Maser GranCabrio would be the best choice. Comfortable cruiser, easy to drive and unisex.

I think the Ghost looks fantastic and less ostentatious than its big brother. My favourite Rolls to date.

White seems to be the in colour last year. Porsche and Lambo launched their new models in white and all their press cars were white too.
