No worries Derek....hope u were wearing a condom though...and didn't leave any stains hahaha How was it?besides the obvious rattling..gonna get it sorted out today
Sept 7 is PCS morning track day if you are interested.... be a great way to strectch your beasts legs....
I gotta admit I really enjoyed playing with a stick; the flappy paddles are easier to use but they do take away from the driving experience. Overall I was really impressed by it's handling and acceleration especially as the revs climbed, & the firm ride allowed you to be a little more frisky than u wud normally be with a stock 911. My only negative comment wud be the lack of noise, and to be honest I actually liked the rattle as it let you know that you were giving it some. Of course I only heard once as I was driving well within its limits. Fwiw Mrs K also gave it her stamp of approval in the looks department, which is obviously more important than any driving review I could write
Funny that you would say that about the flappy paddles, as for me the one thing that would really make the GT3 easier to drive would be the use of a PDK box. Admittedly, a manual box is always going to be more interactive and keep a driver far more busy- but its not really achieving much- the driver gets to be busy, and hence less able to concentrate on the other matters of driving line and braking points. To me its kinda being busy for the sake of it.... I would rather have a flappy paddle box.... for me driving at the track with a hangover is bad enough (something I seem to have gotten into the habit of doing), let alone having to worry about the gearshift, clutch and heel and toeing.... plus the fact that the RS (wonder if its solved in the Mk 2) has an irritating habit of not being able to shift into 3rd on heavy load right handers (turn 3 at Sepang) hence forcing one to early shift and lose some torque...
You've just nicely summed up why I would rather track any paddleshift car than a manual car! Btw what do you mean by not being able to shift into 3rd? Do you mean the gear stick just bounces out?
Mate, just cant engage 3rd. Clutch fully pressed in, gear stick refuses to go into 3rd.... its unfortunately a known problem with the Mk 1 RS, something to do with the engine block torqueing under load and the few mm shift not allowing the gears to align properly only for 3rd.... bizarre. My guess is solid engine mounts would solve the issue but make the car a total pain to drive-I would sooner have a civilised car on the track and forgo the extra second lost in the mis shift than have to endure bone rattling.... I think that the Mk 2 should be better as the engine mounts are those specially magnetised thinggys that would stiffen up as the car goes under load..... hence restricting engine movement...
I thought as much, tried googling for info but I didn't get anything substantial, so yeah, thanks for the verification dude. Yowzers, gotta be really careful when playing with the stick in the future man, thanks for the heads up! Don't wannna be doing "tailies" on the runway Whoa, didn't know this was how it worked. Thanks for the heads up mate, appreciate it a lot!
Oh my..... 3/4 or end of this month bro. May have to loan your workshop in Sg or KL! She's a 5' 9" brunette & one of the top 100 sexiest women in 2010. Not bad. No worries of blue jeans staining those beige seats & looks like Italian registered! For a start, your poses are quite er.. hmmm..... well.... That dealer just sold a very nice black 9months old F599 with HGTE package for S$950K. Wow, u were serious! Didn't u just asked about 2 weeks back? Make sure you're well shaved
Dude, don't be cheap on this one. Request for a warranty for the full job which most workshops give. (come to think of it, people seemed to have forgotten about this!) A throw-out bearing failure will mean stranding on the road & you wouldn't want that somewhere in Malaysia.
Mum+Big car= disaster; usually. You'll soon find the rear quarters scrapped. Any Rolls as far as I can remember are not just long but wide. So, Cka is right about this. Most women want life easier for their rides. Shopping, hairdo, food etc are priorities, not a huge car for self-drive. Mnm, think carefully what you want for mum but a driver is less than $2K/month so maybe
Well, that's because it was my only car @ one time so it forces you to adapt & the manual Gbox lets you control the car much better during cold-starts, parking & ramps. Most, if not all Murcie owners have the luxury of several cars so they take the easiest one out & that becomes a garage queen & unloved. I always say, look @ those truck drivers & better still flatbeds with 40' containers. They drive it daily, hell some actually drive faster than cars while I've also seen a twenty+ decent looking lady driving an SBS bus. So, that makes a daily driving Murcie owner like a kid! Now, that car really engulfs everything! Yes, I often plan ahead & worst blindspot is the left rear quarter on a 90degree right turn in a packed traffic! Blindspot mirrors help a fair bit here. That sounds closer to a 500K OMV including shipping+20%+7%. Hope the retail price when new justifies the "savings". Harold, that's very strange. U sure it's not the rev limiter working it's magic, preventing a blown engine? What was your rev @ during this symptom? Oh, that's if you were downshifting!

Do your braking, shifting and all in a straight line!!! hahahah
True, but clutch kicking is just second nature. It's hardly fun at all when you do it 100% of the time. I think the most fun part about driving manual is doing the downshift blip on your own.
You're totally right Jon! Every time I return to Singapore, I find more scratches and dents on the SL and the 7 series but my mom can never remember getting any of them!
Which bus route was it??? Think I will start taking the bus!!!! Bro, as you said, going up not down in gear....and its manual so no electronic wizadry to stop the gear engaging unfortunately....
I assumed he meant clutching in to change gears. I guess since we're all car enthusiasts, we all clutch in by kicking down on the clutch as hard as possible to change gears faster.
