    So you slide the lever into 3rd, let go of the clutch and nothing happens? Or does it bounce out with this hideous bone rattling grind.

    Years back. Think it was #84, so she could be a mum now :D hey I'm sure some PRC gals could be working their way as bus "captains" @ the rate they are coming, so polish up your Mandarin ;)

    Hmmm. Upshifting reduces revs, very strange symptom. Wrong gearbox oil or the brake fluid (IIRC clutch hydraulics shares it)?

    Fong?

    Alamak, would've been glad to show you how to do it though not all too. How much did this exercise (640=599) cost you?

    i think harold is a track afficionado ,so no clutch "kicking" as such- "kick down" (on accelerator) is i believe a phrase more commonly associated with auto cars to induce drop of gear. harold maybe u need to double clutch to engage?

    In harold's world, that you just typed actually means

    "you slide your lever to the back, let go and bang it in. It is either a perfect fit or you heard a loud noise followed by a loud scream"

    You slam it in, or you break it. :)

    In case you guys want to know the real reason..cuz Harold got airlock in the gbox, thats why I call him a "Twart" which means;

    The sound a chick emits after withdrawal when air gets trapped in the beave during sex.
    Guy: Ah! that was sweet....wait...what the hell was that sound when I pulled out?
    Squeeze: Uh. That was a twart you ass-wipe. You put the air there when you rushed to get in before you popped.

    Clutch kicking is used to induce intentional oversteer prior to the apex, basically an alternative to pulling the E-Brake. Arrive at corner entry at a speed that's too high, and when you turn in (with throttle) and when you get your understeer, give a firm hard kick on the clutch while still maintaining throttle and this apparently will cause the rear wheels to break traction and slide your way out.

    Definitely not a proper grip racing technique (hence possibly foreign to proper Trackers such as Harold), only performed it while hooning about on the Simulator.

    Anyway I was just joking about doing it on a track, might see the black flag :p

    I don't think I'd ever have the balls to try this in my own car. Mistakes are costly :( Simulators have clutches?

    Good ones do. :D

    Seriously though, the cheapest way to get into a wheel with a clutch would probably be a 2nd hand G25 but there are some really high end setups with the 8 speed H shifter alone costing upwards of a thousand USD :eek:
