I don't think it will be as collectible as you said an f40 or f50 but who the hell cares, the sound of that thing is pure F1. The reason is that there is to many 599 made already. Enjoy

Almost any car in this segment that can reach its 30th birthday becomes a collectible. So buy it and hold it.

Your post is precisely correct... for it to be collectible... buy it and hold it.

You left out,... But don't drive it.

That's the only way it'll be collectible.

    Or enjoy it. Your choice.

How many Ferraris are GTO's? You can count them on one hand. Collectible....

You can never justify a car as an investment but it should be collectible.

    What he said.

Plus, I wouldn't bet on technology-laden modern cars for the long term.

Yes. As much as any Ferrari is.

No. Not like other GTOs, F40s and 50s.

Probably more like a 512M. Appreciated more than the others.

What are your opinions on how this car compares to the 430 scud?

You think its handling may be inferior because of the front engined lay out as opposed to the more balance mid? Which you rather have in a competition race on a track?

Frankly, never liked the 512m, the round lights on the back were too small making it look like a kit car, and the open lights in the front were just not right for the body style.

I think the 512 TR is the best looking TR out of the 3.

    Ditto.

But, drive it anyway. A little patina and gravel marks are like the slight lines on Cindy Crawford's face--a little wear, but a hell of a package all the same.

Does this seem like a long wait for delivery time to anyone else?

Agreed, the TR is by far the best looking.

Maybe he meant end of the 2011MY, or about July 2011?

Keep in mind they are calling this car as based off of their XXX program, not based off of the GTB or HGTE. That is quite significant.

Regarding the topic of this thread I think it will definitely be collectible if by it's low production numbers alone. On top of that it is the fastest road-going Ferrari they've constructed.
