Lets get him a real life size cut-out for xmas! We can decorate it with LEDs and all Waddya think Derek?
sorry to be pedantic but you don't actually give people an option if you look at the choices available.
Tim, you are spot on, it seemed to work with double clutching. Problem is that going around that corner and trying to double clutch leaves me in neutral a tad too long for my liking- floating around the corner at relatively high speeds (as its a high speed corner) whilst floating without a gear is a bit too unnerving for me... so I tend to just live with it and change early before the cars engine is too loaded and twisting... seems to work well enough I guess...
ahhh ok mate, so its pressing the clutch in to release load on rear of car, balance shifts to front and hence the rear breaks free.... think I would prefer to trail brake to achieve that though- master fong of course would rather I just ram and cause a twart....
C'mon Harold, u've been driving manual for many years. What speed & revs were you entering? Do a quick google for Japanese trackdays in youtube where they often have a small window to show you their footworks too. Quite amazing.
haha. Mate, exiting turn 2 in second, I usually shift at about 5500 rpm to 3rd through turn 3. If I hammer the accelerator and wait for close to red line, the car will not engage 3rd as the engine is twisting under the extra load at that speed just for turn 3... everywhere else is fine...
yeah, it does seem to get in the way some times. I have however, as a result learnt to put it to good use....I dont have to do heel and toe.... just use the extra appendage to press on the brake, while the right foot blips the accelerator.
Strange. Never happened to any of my manual cars unless the brake fluid's in boiling mode! Btw, what's the peak torque for 2nd in your car? If you want to start getting clinical.
