I do not believe that Kubica, Webber, Vettel, AJ Foyt, Earnhardt, Patrick, Garlits, etc, were ever being considered by Ferrari unless Massa's injury proved to be detrimental to his performance. Which it has not. He is as effective as Alonso at this point.
So, in spite of all the rumours, it doesn't seem that Ferrari is in a hurry to replace Massa to recruit Vetel or Kubica. I think it's a wise decision. Alonso and Massa are a good pair. The problem at Ferrari at the moment is the car, not the drivers. It seems that the exceptional technical and managerial team they used to have around Shumacher is gone for ever, and the Scuderia's form is suffering for it.
Nah the mistake filled Alonso sacking might be the announcement!!! Revealing they replace him with Kubica!! Great news. Felipe has earned it!!! Is he Alonso .....no. But he wears red and many dream to do so and few attain it. I am quite pleased!
Yes, you are right. I am surprised at how many people personally know Massa well enough to see a reason to not like him. I bumped into him in the lobby of an Indianapolis hotel once, we both said excuse me. Seemed like a nice guy to me, polite anyway.
Good news all around. There's never going to be a better #2 for Alonso. Ends the distracting speculation early in the season. (Are we sure this is Ferrari we're talking about?)
