Wow, what an honest sounding ad! These are the types of ads that actually lead to a fair price both for the buyer and the seller on an ebay sale.

I agree.... and that's partly why I posted the link here - he's being so brutally honest that I tend to feel that if someone were to buy this car from this guy - and assuming they talked to him first to do a bit more homework & get more detailed info - they'd know EXACTLY what they were getting into... no surprises. For someone who knew their way around these cars pretty well & could do at least some of the work themselves, this could be a very good deal.

Not for me, though - not for my first F-Car... I'm still learning about the Masi stuff & finally have my '02 Coupe 100% sorted out (Woo-Hoo! lol), so if I get a "project Ferrari", it would definitely be something that needed less work than this one - i.e.: something that I can "ease into" a bit.

This is prolly the third or fourth time it has been listed.

The price is getting close to right......

I didn't realize it had been listed before - I hadn't ever noticed it on e-bay, and I also searched the VIN# here & didn't see a reference, so I thought it might be a new listing. My apologies if I've redundantly posted a vehicle that members here may already be aware of.

In any event, in terms of the price... a single digit in front of the comma...? Is that what you're thinking might be "right?" lol

Looks like a great car for a reasonable price for somebody who wants to do some of their own work and has a bit of skill and some facilities/tools.

For somebody who doesn't have skill and facilities it'll likely be a bit of nightmare to get it all sorted out. Paying a ferrari mechanic to do everything from sorting the electrics to re-glueing some carpet and trim will get expensive fast.

The cars that are relevant to this sub-forum are all 20+ year old cars...they're all old and used cars. So, the major components (engines, brakes, paint, suspension, etc.) are going to have some wear on them no matter how shiney and new it all looks.

That's the best way to list a Ferrari if you care about the marque and want it to come back to life in the right hands. Thumbs up to the Seller!

Looks like a nice price and honest seller. Don't find that very often.

Maybe it used to belong to a former NBA'er, like the 456 that now resides at Straightline Automotive in Dallas, but Shaq forgot to emblazon a hoop on that car, so he borrowed this one & painted one on there, and there you have it. lol

    $13K, wow.

That could be a great project for someone. Drop the engine out, work through a major, change all fuel lines, etc., clean everything up nice and neat, complete Leatherique redo on the interior. Would be a lot of fun, and could end up with a nice driving, nice looking Mondial for peanuts.

I can't see how it's a bad deal but there's always more to it than meets the eye.

Considering it's got an extra set of wheels and overall the car looks decent in the pics (not the best way to evaluate a car) it's worth more in parts than he wants for the car.

I am kind of glad someone else beat me to the buy it now...while I was pondering where I could put it, as I have too many cars already, it sold.

I do wonder why it has been sold before and the deal fell through? Makes you wonder if the new buyer didn't like the car when they actually saw it? I was looking at 308s before I bought my 348 and they all looked great in the pics but I was less impressed with them after driving them. Not to say this car is that way as I've not seen it but for $13K as long as there are no major existing drive train issues, I'd bet the new owner did fine on this buy. Fix the electrical gremlins so it won't strand ya and you've got what looks to be decent driver.

The concern for me would be how much I'd have to spend (that means HAVE to not WANT to) to make it reliable keeping in mind it's a driver not a show car. If you had to dump another $10K in it (as others have said) you are getting close to low end 348 money and with all the nice $17K-$21K Mondials out there...it might take awhile if you decided to sell it and try to get break even money.

All things considered, I was REAL close to clicking on the BIN but was waiting on more pics and a response from the seller about a few things...then it was gone ;-) I hope it works out good for the new owner.

It would be good to hear the rest of the story once he takes delivery. We'll all be saying either: "Darn I should have bought it" or "told ya so" LOL.
