    Patience! Patience!

It's all part of Audi's carefully laid plan. Test at Homestead
and Sebring instead of competing directly against Peugeot
    at the 12 Hours.

Then, at the first head to head meeting against Peugeot
at Spa, run the Le Mans low down force settings as a
test vehicle for Le Mans with predictable results.

And finally, show up at Le Mans and spot Peugeot 4+
seconds in practice and qualifying then spring the
"Ullrich Surprise of 2010" in the morning warmup
    on Saturday.

Can't wait to see how it works out. Audi must be doing
a rain dance in the paddock.

I'm not writing the Audi's off. The McNish car finished on the lead lap at Spa. Even on Fri. Sat. practice runs at Spa they were doing pit stops for LeMans. Coming in and changing the entire nose and tail sections during practice. Changing tires and putting the same ones back on. Constant driver changes. At first I thought WTF. Then I realized the entire weekend was just a practice run to LeMans.

With such a speed deficit, the only way Audi may win
is if they keep the Peugeots in their sights and the 908s
run into trouble, botch pit stops, etc.

Audi always have their bases covered in that regard and
as we've seen Peugeot have gotten their act together in
the pits (barring any collisions) and last year the
winning Peugeot ran flawlessly to the finish.

With 4+ seconds in hand though, the Peugeots may
run 6/10ths pace as they did at Sebring, avoid trouble
    and toy with the Audis.

Great to see Risi at the top of GT2 times, wishing
    them well.

    Hi guys,
I was hoping that someone would start the thread.

Got into Paris this am - spent day on Champs Elysee (sp) - watching Eurosport right now with live coverage and they say will carry live qualify in a few hrs - it is 8:25 pm right now. Glad for Risi - will have my Risi shirt on Sat and Sun; tomorrow is Beachdean Mansell shirt day for open pits/driver parade. Hoping to see a Puegeot 1-2-3 on Sunday and another Risi win too.

No camera but will have iPhone to take photos - will email to yzee to post if that is ok with him. Hope Risi got tranny issue sorted for tonight.

Is Audi sandbagging?? I think not...... barring any pitstop screw ups the ORECA Pug should do well too. Headed to circuit early am for open pits/pizza and beer in towne centre/driver parade.....hopefully no rain - catch you guys later. Hoping for live ti,ing but not sure if will be available.

    Carol

Are Audi still sand-bagging? still 4 secs down in quali.
Have just checked the local satellite TV guide and see the race is being broadcast live, we havent h live coverage for the last 2 years. So I guess I know where I will be from Saturday afternoon onwards.

Who cares about Peugeot and Audi oil burners?

It's real sportscars I am interested in!!

In the absence of Pescarolo in LMP1, I'll be watching the Lola Aston Martin and hope they finish as high as possible.

In view of the UNFAIR advantage given to the Diesel by the ACO, they probably have no chance of winning. That's a shame.

That's it, I had my rant!!

I'm very excited for the weekend! Looks like a lot of good coverage in the US, too. Full coverage on Speed, plus they'll have several hours on Saturday streaming without interruption.

    Have fun as always, Carol!

Listening to Radio Le Mans during Thursday qualifying,
the Peugeots are toying with Audi.

Toward the end of the session Thursday night, Peugeot
were holding station and Audi started making inroads
to their times although by only about 2 seconds.

Peugeot then sent all three factory cars out with each
lapping well below Bourdais' best sector times. The announcers
got very excited that we were about to see the lap times
tumble only to have each of the cars back off at the Ford
Chicanes by which time the point was made.

The theroy was that the Peugeots could have comfortably
lowered their lap times into the 3:17s had Audi been able
to pose any threat into the 3:19s but of course that
    never materialized.

Too bad for Risi #82. Fiona's report only indicated an
"irregularity with the rear wing" but Autosport reports
that the Gurney Flap was 2mm too low. Thus, rather
than start from GT2 pole, they start at the back of
    the field.
