Good evening Rob, fellow site members. M ke, or was it Newman, threatened to build a boat as their next project. Having already built a boat, my next endeavor is the restoration of my '78 Euro GTS.

I'd like both a Ferrari and a boat, but having grown around boats of various types, I can tell you two things:

    1. Boats are awesome to be on
    2. Boats are horrible to own

With that said, here's my dream boat. Of course, I'd probably be pretty happy with the 1947 wooden ChrisCraft my parents had before I was born. Don't even get me started on sailboats; I'll take a Swan 45, please.

We receintly sold our 1948 17' Chris Craft Delux Runabout. I miss it and ready for another. The next mahogany will be bigger and with modern power.

We sold our sailboat after 25 years, wouldn't mind another, maybe a bit bigger

My father thought it would be fun to buy a boat built in the same year he was born. Of course, if I were to follow that notion I'd end up with a 1979 Seaswirl tri-hull with a daisy graphic on the outboard motor. My dad misses his Chris Craft dearly, especially when he tortures himself by going to Wooden Boat Week in Lake Tahoe.

Here's our Hatteras 53 anchored in Baltimore Inner Harbor - I do all the work on the boat which makes Ferrari maint look like nothing at all (time AND money-wise)! ;)

Dont know why the pic doesn't open as part of the post, I made it as small as possible to still have a reasonable pic...

    Well,
We bought a new 1986 Chris Craft Scorpion back in the days when we had a house at Lake Tahoe. Sold the house and the boat in 1999. After getting my 328 in 2008, I found our old boat on Craigslist and bought it in 2009, and now I am putting it back to it's original condition.
Looking forward to using it this summer.

If I could only put a trailer hitch on the 328....... I think I will do that with photoshop......

    Enjoy,
    Bob

Over the years, I've owned a Catalina 22 (sail), Chrysler LS16 (sail), Sea Ray 18' runabout, and a 4Winns 21'. Dollar for dollar, and amount of usage you end up getting, stick to the cars. Boats truly are holes in the water you pour money into. The 308 ain't bad, by comparison. Plus, you'll use it a whole heck of a lot more!

By the way, PAD's boat in that picture is a very historic boat, well known on the Chesapeake. Absolutely beautiful lines when you see it in person!!

Here is a picture of 'Fast Freight' a former Lake Tahoe icon. She belonged to a friend who passed away. I have her now at my ranch on Lake Seinole in SW Georgia

Just sold my fizz boat to start looking for a sailboat. The Hauraki Gulf is one of the best sailing grounds in the world, and I live right next to it!

My old school Sleek Craft. Really miss my Donzi 22 Classic. Was working on buying it back until "Mystery Noise" appeared in the 308. Now all saved loot will go towards repairing whatever is causing the noise. Appointment at Eugenios July 1st. Very nervous.
