I agree with most conclusions, especially the one about Legard. Is htat guy paid by the word? He just can't shut up it seems. I hope Ferrari is indeed back, but it could go any way. Maybe the track suited the car more than the others. But let's hope it's the improvements on the car themselves. If true, the future looks a little brighter for Ferrari.
JB and Ham do seem to be pushing each other to become better drivers. Mclaren IMO have a very good driver pairing, the fragile balance seems right at the min. Ferrari all is not lost, it seems. Redbull I'm not quite sure yet whether there moment in the spotlight has passed, they haven't capitalized on there earlier domination enough, and some of it is there own doing. But it does seem the others are reeling them in fast.
Got back from Montreal last night; the highlight of the race for me was Alonso, and I don't mean his 3rd place. I mean that finally another driver (I guess it was going to take a Latin one) on the grid has stood his ground against LH's "out of my way" attitude. Seeing Alonso stand firm in the pit lane was worth the entire weekend.
I think Alonso is good for Ferrari, i love the rivalry with LH that he has. Should always make great racing. Though i think that all F1 drivers have the out of my way attitude, especially Alonso. Thats why they are so good and hungry. I thought MS aggression was also good, when he drove for Ferrari he was a hero now he is deemed a villain But i think he is top draw and Enzo would have loved his win at all cost attitude. I think he would have liked alonso also, he is good for Ferrari i think.
Gut feeling is that RBR has a fuel management problem (along with MB but MB is squeezing a bit more out of their set up). That was their "technical problem" they solved via a few radio transmissions. I found it puzzling when HRT designed their car with too small of tanks but for Mercedes and RBR to have missed the mark ? Unfathomable.
It's clear now that Massa is the team's number 2. It's Alonso or nothing now. Ironically, Massa had the best pass of the race, albeit from 13 th place. Vettel is going to be one frustrated kid the rest of the season. Schumi looked -- awful. Honestly if it was any other driver of less standing, they would be racking him over coals today in the press. How the mighty Brawn have fallen. Right now if I were to guess, Hamilton will be wolrd champ if he can keep doing something stupid. I think Red Bull is finally being challenged by MC and Ferrari. One last thing. This was the most entertaining race without weather as a factor so far this year. Bravo to Montreal.
So Fernando got held up by a backmarker ? I guess I just missed that, it was not covered, or it went in one ear and out the other while watching. That would have changed the race. That was a great race BTW.
Yes, Alonso was unlucky with backmarkers on three occasions. Twice he got passed by somebody (first LH, later JB) when he was held up by a backmarker and after LH pitted he got a few fast laps but was held up by a Lotus so he ended up behind LH again when he pitted himself. Alonso might have had a shot at the win but that's racing.
It may be time to give Ron D. his due. What the man has done at McLaren over the years is phenomenal.
I think its fine and necessary to have an "out of my way" attitude, but you also need a "no, its not going to be so easy to get around me" attitude as well...

It is unfathomable. And therefore I am forced to believe that they minimize how much fuel they put in based on being in the draft, a full course yellow or 2, etc. And factor in that even if they have to run on fuel savings mode for part of the race, it's better than having put in too much fuel. Similar to most endurance sports car series and even Indy, where they do refuel, yet they always end up in fuel savings mode at the end. They certainly have the opportunity to put in enough fuel to run balls out all the way to the finish, but they choose not to. HRT is a different situation. They could not complete a race in any fuel mode.
I think its fair to say most teams have been at it at some point, Mosley having it in for Ron D, just highlighted it. Look no further than Renault, when Flav was Mosley's bum chum he was given carte blanc, then Flav started spouting off in FOTA... bang thank you and good night Flav your ship has been well and truly sunk. Mosley IMO is insanely jealous of what Ron has achieved.
Schumacher did not look impressive at all. Too bad I was afraid that this would happen to him... I think coming out of retierment for Brawn was a bad idea... if for Ferrari it would not be as bad but still a bad thing... it can really only be down from here on His reputation. It would be one thing if Rosberg was having problems too... but he is not.
Still too early to pull the plug on MS. IMO something "was up" either with the car or fuel. Its not like he suddenly lost his MoJo in the last few laps.
+1. If we all take off our rossa-tinted glasses then we have to concur with Kraftwerk... McLaren may be the enemy of Ferrari, but even we have to admit that McLaren was hard done by Mosley. McLaren was tarred and feathered when they were found to have Ferrari info in their possession, whereas nothing happened to Renault when they committed the same offense by having stolen McLaren data (which many believe had more to do with Bernie sticking up for his fellow business partner). They BOTH should have been punished, not just one of them...Renault should have been fined and humiliated as well instead of having THEIR spy scandal swept under the carpet... Frank
Absolutely outstanding race with plenty of action! VERY glad I recorded it! I believe this is PRECISELY what the intent was when they outlawed refueling. Now you see much more passing on the track, where it should be! Frank
You're drawing the wrong conclusion. There was no refueling in Bahrain or Spain, utterly different result.
