    It's so uncomfortable!

I had a 62 Fairlane set up as a hotrod, lots of compromises. She never wanted to drive that but had one once when I sold it and it had to go to the transport truck while i was out of town. It was such a horrible experience for her that she only wants to drive the Ferrari once in case she ever has to drive it on her own. She is also scared that something might happen while she drives it due to what she perceives as a strong connection between me and my cars. :)

To her it's just a car but she has told the partners at her firm that it makes her happy because it makes me happy.

"So are you spending the weekend with me or your red mistress"? -quote about old red 430 spider. "at least it probably didn't cost us anything extra" -quote after I told her that I traded the 2006 430 spider in on a 2009 16m. "yes dear, deleting the carpets and power seats saved us quite a bit!"

"You won't sell this car. You love this car more than you love me".

    To which I reply.

"It's not that I love it more, it's just that I've known it longer and spent more time inside of it".

    I can't believe I'm still alive!

Not an owner just yet, but a couple of years ago we were in Cannon Beach Oregon at the same time that FCOA was having an event. For a $50 donation to one of the children's Hospitals, you would get a ride up the coast a bit in one of the Ferraris. I convinced my wife that she had to try it. She ended up getting a ride in a beautiful 512. Came back with a huge grin on here face and said "now I get it!!" She's been fully supportive of my desire for a Ferrari ever since.

My wife keeps telling me to sell the Testarossa, because it is to old and buy a new one and points to a 458. hmmmm. I told her price on one and she said it doesn't matter as long as she is happy riding in it :). I guess she has her standards

My wife refuses to take a ride in the 456 and always asks "does it have to be so loud". I always say that I will look into it - Hah!

My wife just said to me the other day after her and her friend went for a cruise in the 360 "why does the stereo suck SO badly??"

Tried to explain the beauty of the engine but she likes Lady Gaga more than the scream of the engine. And to think I spent all that money on hi flow cats and a new exhaust!

When I met my wife in 76 my car was a 330 GTC. Thinking I would impress her on our first date I pulled up to her house w/ as much drama as I would dare. Her comment?

    "Looks like a Datsun".

She wasn't impressed then nor is she now. Oh well.

    That reminds me.

I bought a junker 246 Dino gt went I was 23. I spent two years and all the money I had getting it back together. I drove it over to my Mom to see it for the first time.

Her comment "that little sh@t is what you spent your money on?". From that moment on she always referred to it by that name.

Mom has a way with words....

My wife knows how much I covet a 355, and that I would love to upgrade my 308 to one. But she says I'm not allowed to sell my 308 if I want to buy a 355 as "you have too much blood, sweat and love invested in that car".

So I guess she is saying that she is happy for me to have 2 Ferraris!

A couple of years ago I contemplated selling the 308, and she says to me that "it really gives you so much joy, it's worth whatever you spend on it each year"

Lastly I would probably never have bought a Ferrari without her input. I was sort of serious, having wanted one forever. Then I took one for a test drive, and then she phones the bank to arrange the finance, and tells me "the bank says you can get it if you want it!"

    I love my wife!

Like many of you, I had wanted one since I was old enough to know what it was. I knew what model I wanted. I was finally in a position to buy one, and had been looking around semi-seriously for months, when I found THE car.

It was priced higher than I wanted to go... I wasn't sure about sinking that much into a toy... Really wanted it... Couldn't justify the expense... Second guessing all the way... Yada, yada, yada...

    Her comment?

"Oh, stop it. Just write the check. You know you have to."

Not really. She is definitely different. At least she lets me keep my passion for cars and only once stopped me from buying a particular Ferrari 'cause she did not like it. Unfortunately that car was a 275 GTB/4 about 15 yrs ago. As I said before....Oh well.

During our first Crescent Classic, I went out mid-pack (spirited, but not racing) since my speed conservative wife was with me. About 20 minutes into it, we were behind to Porches and behind us were two Vipers. She turns to me and says: "These guys are way too slow, get past them." That moment was the most I can remember loving her. :)

As a side note, the next year, now knowing that my wife was more inclined for high speed, we went out #5. My car was way outmatched in handling and horsepower so I had to drive to my limit the entire time. Really fun for me, not quite as much for her. "I didn't mean this fast." However, we kept up quite nicely given the cars around us. The 328 did me proud.

I always thought the 240Z was copied from the 250GTO. ;)

The comment to look for from a GF about your Ferrari is, "Is it real?"

If she doesn't ask that, maybe she doesn't want you asking, "Are they real?" :D

When my gal saw the F-car for the first time, she said it's too scary because it is loud and doesn't have an airbag in the steering wheel. It's also too low and looks like a toy. She doesn't know how to drive a stickshift or want to learn, and she easily gets car sick, so I have to drive it alone most of the time. I love her!
