I'm mortified. That engine and bay looks like some kind of mechanized monster took a dump in there. Please, someone set this thing on fire and put it out of its misery...or our miserry.

To show up in a Pontiac Mera = takes some balls, but nothing wrong there - it was REAL

To show up in a Pontiac Mera with FERRARI BADGING??? = Tattoo "L" on forehead; I bet
he was dressed in a head-to-toe red Ferrari Store outfit....

How does one get to Cars and Coffee? Is it a private gathering or can anyone show up?

When the time is right.... you will know

    <evil grin>

Seriously - check your local section for a C&C posting. If there isn't one, post it
and start a tradition. Most areas have them all summer long. I presume this one
was in Cerritos and I'm sure was posted in the SO Cal section. I'm sure someone
from that area will chime in on this...

I like how the side markers are integrated into the 'split' line, and the interior after 110k looks to have held up much better than my '85's 40k interior.

Notice the 288GTO style engine lid? The headlight/top of fender area looks strange tilted in towards the centerline, but other than that not a bad looking 308 copy at all.

Assuming this is based on the later Fiero is probably damned close to QV performance too.

If it was a true targa or spyder I'd say nice price.

    I owned a Mera.
I bought it as a project car. When it was all said and done, it cost me much more than my first Ferrari. I sold it on ebay for less than half of what I had put into it. I did, however, enjoy the the work, which included engine replacement and a complete interior and exterior restoration.

The 'GM sued by Ferrari' shows creativity.......;).

Love the SUV ground clearance, no worrying about scuffs on the dam....

That's not too bad a car - I've driven a lot worse when I was younger.

GM was also sued by the Italian gunmaker Beretta. Seems they neglected to get the Brand name (500 plus years old) release.

I saw the exterior badges... okay... but then I saw the INTERIOR badges, on the door handles and TWO besides the shift lever... WHAT THE HELL?

I bet the driver had a badge tattooed on his forehead to complete the "look"!

That's actually not a bad looking car, but it's obviously no Ferrari.

I would have no problem with it if it weren't for the Ferrari badging. Badge it as a Fiero, badge it as a "Mera," tell others that the design similarities are purely coincidental, and let the chips fall where they may.

But it's just not a Ferrari.

Probably pretty close to QV performance if you disconnected four of the spark plug wires from the QV.

I know it's a very old thread but I came across this YouTube video of the company making this monstrosity.
