Couldn't help but notice Schumie struggling on the exit of the hairpin in Montreal. Most of the time the tail of the Benz would twitch under power and he had to put opposite lock in to get the car pointed down the road. Nico didn't have this problem, neither did LH FA SV nor Massa. Webber struggled in practice but got it all together in quali, but MS just couldn't get it right.

tire issues would be more likely.

+1 tires are frequently mentioned in relation to MS re-adapting to F1.

Bridgestone doesn't make better tires for Nico; he doesn't have the same problem. If Michael is losing a couple of hundreths on every low speed corner it might begin to explain the gap between him and his teammate.

He´s raced (and won) without traction control in the past, so I don´t think that´s problem.

Its no one thing. Fact is he's rusty, older and the sport has changed.
Not to say he won't succeed but as they say "if you're not moving forward, you're moving back".

He raced without TC 17 years ago.

I am a huge Schumie fan but I am searching for an answer. VIZSLA's comments are valid but not the total answer.

Agreed. Schumacher raced in the age of multiple pit stops, and was king of getting all the grip out of the tires (and eating them alive). We are now in an age (again) where taking care of your tires is king.

The switch to option tires with 15 laps left to go in Montreal was (in my humble opinion) not-to-wise for MS.

Give him time, I'm sure he'll do better. Remember, this is the guy who in '96, in the rain was about 4 sec faster than the rest of the field in a sub par Ferrari. Raced with and without traction control, grooved and slicks etc etc.

Sometimes we forget just how good even the back-markers in F1 are. Michael doesn't need to loose much pace at all to be a mid-fielder.

In theory, the last year he raced without traction control was 2001.

Still remember in Malaysia where MS and Rubens BOTH were circling the track like they were on rails while everyone else was sliding all over the slick road in the rain :D

Dont bring in logic here. I made the same argument about his poor performance at the Monaco GP, a race he used to dominate yet the MS fans wouldn't have any of it.

Speaking of the famous Schumachers, haven't heard anything from Mick in quite a while. I suppose that career didn't pan out as planned.

Just asking whether we have heard any updates on his career. Last time we checked he ended up midfield in karts.
